Jason Sudeikis defends Ted Lasso over season 3 backlash

As a long-time fan of Ted Lasso, I’ve been following this show since its inception and have grown to love its unique blend of humor, heart, and football. Season 3 might have stirred some controversy among certain viewers, but as someone who appreciates the art of live theater and the beauty of a well-crafted narrative, I found it to be a masterpiece.

Jason Sudeikis has defended Ted Lasso season 3 after it received a backlash from some fans.

The AppleTV+ football comedy-drama with a warm heart has garnered significant praise from both critics and audiences, but the response to its third season was somewhat less enthusiastic compared to the second one.

In a passage from the freshly published book “Believe: The Hidden Tale of Ted Lasso, the Series That Stirred Our Emotions“, actors and co-creators Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt address Jeremy Egner’s assertion that viewers found the separation of characters in season 3, as well as specific character decisions, less than appealing.

Sudeikis stated: “Similar to a live play, the series, particularly season 3, invited the viewers to actively engage. Some prefer this involvement, while others do not. Some like to critique – they’re not interested in being intrigued.

I can’t fathom individuals who persistently discuss topics when, as far as I’m concerned, they seem to be misinformed or lacking understanding about it.

May good fortune be upon them, as they are blameless in this matter. After all, they lack the ability to imagine, and they can’t partake in understanding such an experience.

“Each individual has improved more than they initially were. Just like an efficient Scout at a campsite who leaves the place cleaner than they found it, we too have made progress and if you can’t see that in the show, then I’m not sure what program you are watching.

The character portrayed by Hunt, Coach Beard in the series, provided a succinct reply when discussing the criticisms surrounding season 3, describing it as “quickly put aside” or “neatly categorized.

You can stream all three seasons of Ted Lasso on Apple TV+. It’s been speculated, but not yet confirmed, that a fourth season will be produced.
