Jason Statham’s The Meg 3 Gets Discouraging Status Update

Jason Statham’s future with the Meg movie series is uncertain. After appearing in The Meg and Meg 2: The Trench, fans are hoping he’ll be back for a third film, but recent news suggests that’s unlikely.

Ben Wheatley, the director of Meg 2: The Trench, recently discussed the possibility of a third Meg movie. He had mentioned in 2023 that Meg 3 could happen if the second film did well at the box office. However, despite The Trench‘s financial success, Wheatley says he hasn’t heard anything about progress on a third film.

He admitted he wasn’t sure what was happening with a potential third movie, but he believes the Megalodon is still out there. He described seeing a large, dark shape swimming in the ocean, leading him to think the creature exists.

I’m already thinking about what they could do in The Meg 3 if they make it! Jason Statham’s massive shark could get even crazier – the director, Ben Wheatley, actually joked that maybe it’ll grow legs and start terrorizing people on land! Can you imagine a land shark? That would be wild!
