Jason Statham is staying busy! He currently has a movie in theaters, another coming out later this year, and now he’s signed on to a new project. He’ll be working again with David Leitch, who directed him in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Okay, so I just heard about this new movie that sounds amazing. It’s called Jason Statham Stole My Bike – seriously, what a title! – and it’s a big action-comedy. The really cool part? It’s reuniting Jason Statham with the director who’s done a bunch of my favorites like Fast & Furious, Deadpool 2, Bullet Train, and The Fall Guy. Sounds like it’s going to be a wild ride, and I’m already excited!
Jason Statham is quickly jumping from one project to the next. He’s just begun working with Guy Ritchie again on their sixth film, Viva la Madness, which started filming in London in early February. Before he can even take a break, he’s scheduled to begin filming Jason Statham Stole My Bike in May.
Okay, so I just got the scoop on Jason Statham’s new movie, and the title alone – Jason Statham Stole My Bike – should tell you what you’re in for. Details are still coming in, but apparently, Statham is playing… well, Jason Statham. It’s a meta move, and sounds like a lot of fun. We’re talking a hefty $80 million-plus budget for this action comedy, packed with the stunts you’d expect, but with a self-aware, humorous edge. Think PG-13, and definitely expect a wink at the audience.
Alison Flierl (BoJack Horseman and the School of Rock) pens the script.
Black Bear has collaborated with Jason Statham on several films, including the recent Shelter (which they distributed and produced in the U.S.) and the upcoming A Working Man (2025). They are also producing Jason Statham Stole My Bike and will be responsible for releasing it widely in the U.S. and selling it internationally.
Ryan Leitch and his wife, Kelly McCormick, are producing the film through 87 North (known for The Fall Guy). Jason Statham is producing via his company, Punch Palace Productions, and John Friedberg is producing for Black Bear. Meredith Berg and Ethan Erwin of Beryllium Entertainment are also producing.
Jason Statham Is Staying Busy
This actor is a highly successful action star, consistently attracting top directors to his films. He collaborated with David Ayer on The Beekeeper in 2024 and another project in 2025, both of which performed reasonably well at the box office. His latest film, Shelter, was released in theaters on January 30th.
Despite costing $50 million to make, the film has only earned $27.8 million at the box office. Fortunately for Jason Statham, he’ll be back on screens later this year with another action movie, Mutiny, directed by Jean-François Richet.
A follow-up to The Beekeeper 2 is currently being finalized, and Jason Statham is also working on his sixth film with director Guy Ritchie, another project with Black Bear. The movie will feature Vinnie Jones (known for Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus, Harry Potter), Babs Olusanmokun (Dune, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare), Camila Mendes (Riverdale, Palm Springs), Ben Foster (Motor City, Hell or High Water), Jonny Lee Miller (The Crown, Elementary), and Raúl Alejandro.
The film Viva La Madness is based on JJ Connolly’s novel of the same name, and Connolly also co-wrote the screenplay with the director. Although the novel continues the story from Layer Cake (previously made into a film with Daniel Craig), this new movie is a completely separate story and won’t connect to the earlier film.
Jason Statham Stole My Bike doesn’t have a release date.
