Jason Momoa lands new DC role after Aquaman

As a long-time comic book enthusiast and gamer with a soft spot for DC Universe characters, I can hardly contain my excitement about Jason Momoa joining the cast of “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” as Lobo! Growing up, I’d always dreamt of seeing this iconic anti-hero brought to life on the big screen, and Momoa is just the right fit for the role.

I remember collecting comics featuring Lobo during my high school years, and his violent yet charismatic personality was a breath of fresh air compared to some of the more stoic superheroes out there. With Momoa’s knack for playing complex characters with a touch of humor, I have no doubt that he will bring the perfect blend of menace and mischief to Lobo.

The fact that Momoa himself expressed his desire to play Lobo in an interview years ago just makes this casting feel even more serendipitous. It’s as if the universe conspired to make my childhood dreams a reality!

To put it simply, I can hardly wait for June 26, 2026, when we’ll get to see Momoa’s Lobo in action. And who knows? Maybe we’ll even get a cameo from Aquaman himself!

Oh, and just one more thing: I wonder if Lobo will have his signature Chro-Mute gun… or if he’ll use something more “environmentally friendly” for today’s audience. Let’s hope it doesn’t come with a rechargeable battery!

Jason Momoa has landed a new DC role after starring as Aquaman.

The actor is set to appear as the antagonist Lobo in the upcoming “Supergirl” film titled “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

The highly anticipated movie, starring Milly Alcock from “House of the Dragon” as the main character, is slated to be the second installment in the revamped DC Universe created by James Gunn and Peter Safran. This follows the release of the Superman film.

On Monday, December 30th, Momoa announced his role-casting via Instagram, posting a snippet from an interview with Fandango, during which he expressed his affection for the Lobo character.

Lobo has always been my favorite comic character, one I’ve long admired. Despite not collecting comics as much these days, the idea of embodying him seemed too good to pass up, as if it were tailor-made for me.

In other words, if someone asks me to perform for them, my answer would be a resounding yes. As of now, I haven’t been asked, so I don’t want to speculate, but if they ever reach out and ask for an audition or performance, I’m ready and willing.

After landing the role, Momoa aptly captioned the post: “They called.”

As I roam the cosmos, I’m known across galaxies as Lobo, a hard-hitting, ruthless bounty hunter hailing from the utopian planet of Czarnia. Born and raised by those who value strength above all else, I’ve made a name for myself as an interstellar mercenary, taking on jobs that others wouldn’t dare touch.

After witnessing everyone near her meet a horrible end, she has become significantly disillusioned or hardened, making her character seem world-weary.

The movie titled “Cruella” is being directed by Craig Gillespie. In addition to Emma Stone in the lead role as Cruella, the cast includes Matthias Schoenaerts portraying the character Krem and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll.
