Jason Isaacs Cast in Prime Video’s Tomb Raider After Fallout Success

Prime Video’s new series is coming together fast. After being in the works for a while, they’re now announcing more of the actors who will be in it.

Jason Isaacs, known for his role in The White Lotus, is the latest actor to join the upcoming Amazon MGM Studio adaptation of a popular video game. This news follows the recent announcement of another Alien star joining the project earlier this month.

The Harry Potter star’s role is undisclosed, as Prime Video has yet to confirm the casting.

The new TV series is inspired by the popular Tomb Raider video games, centering around the exciting journeys of the renowned archaeologist and adventurer, Lara Croft. While the games’ story is well-known, Prime Video hasn’t revealed the specific storyline for the series yet.

The series was first announced in 2022, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for Fleabag, was set to create, write, and executive produce it. After a few years with no news, the show received official approval in May 2024. Then, in November 2024, it was confirmed that a star from Game of Thrones would be joining the cast.

Okay, so the buzz about the cast changes? It all comes down to scheduling conflicts. It’s been nearly four years since we last saw these characters, but thankfully, production is finally gearing up to start filming on January 19th, 2026. And exciting news for fans – British actor has officially joined the cast, signing on earlier this month in December.

Chad Hodge is co-showrunning and executive producing the project, alongside Jonathan Van Tulleken (known for his work on Shōgun and Dope Thief), who is also directing.

I’ve always been a fan of Jason Isaacs – he’s been in so many great films! Of course, a lot of people know him as Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies, but I was really blown away by his recent work as Timothy Ratliff in Season 3 of The White Lotus. It’s fantastic to see him getting the recognition he deserves – he’s now been nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for that role, which is amazing!
