Jared Leto was in good company as he ventured out for a coastal hike in Malibu on Monday morning.
The actor and musician took a walk with his friend Sofia Boutella, and their close interactions suggested a romantic connection.
53-year-old Leto strolled hand-in-hand with the Algerian actress, enjoying the beautiful scenery in the exclusive California neighborhood.
Sofia Boutella, 43, and the Oscar-winning actor were seen walking near Malibu beach, seemingly very close and affectionate, with Boutella putting her arm around his waist.
The actress’s last known relationship, with Irish actor Robert Sheehan, came to an end in 2018.
Jared Leto is facing accusations of misconduct from nine women, some of whom were underage at the time of the alleged incidents, and he has publicly refuted these claims.
The accusations span over twenty years, and some of those making them say they were minors when the incidents supposedly happened.
Rumors that have been circulating in Hollywood for years are now becoming public. One woman, speaking anonymously to Air Mail, said, ‘Everyone’s known about this for a long time.’
Leto’s representatives haven’t yet responded to a request for comment from DailyMail.com, but they previously told Air Mail that all of the women’s allegations are false.
The claims surfaced when DJ Allie Teilz, 30, of Los Angeles, reposted a Facebook post from 2012 to her Instagram. In the post, she accused Jared Leto of assault, saying it happened when she was 17. This wasn’t the first time Leto had faced criticism, as other actors had previously described him as arrogant.
She alleges that when she was 17, Jared Leto sexually assaulted and traumatized her backstage, describing the incident as an unwanted advance where he was wearing a kilt and a winter hat. She stated that this experience felt like a defining moment of not truly arriving in Los Angeles until it happened.
She also claimed that Leto was aware of her age but disregarded it, and she characterized his behavior as predatory, frightening, and wrong.
Another woman, who wished to remain anonymous, shared with the publication that Jared Leto approached her in 2006. She was 16 years old at the time, and the encounter happened at Urth Caffé in Los Angeles.
Oh my gosh, I heard he was at that cafe – *the* cafe! – with Ashley Olsen! Everyone was saying they were totally dating back then, and seeing them together just… it made so much sense! I was obsessed with trying to find pictures, honestly. It was a magical time!
She said she glanced down and saw Jared Leto. They exchanged a few words, and he asked for her phone number.
The woman claimed he called her a few days later, saying his voice was strange and unsettling. She wasn’t sure if he was under the influence of something, but she was certain it was him, Jared.
The woman stated that their late-night talks became sexually suggestive, and she reported that Leto asked her personal and explicit questions, including whether she had ever been in a relationship and a highly offensive sexual question.
Model Laura La Rue, now 33, claims she first met Jared Leto in 2008 at an animal rights fundraiser. At the time, La Rue was 16 years old and Leto was 36.
‘He asked how old I was,’ she alleged. ‘I said, “I’m 16. How old are you?”‘
La Rue told Air Mail that Leto continued to ask for her phone number even after learning how old she was. She also said he invited her to his house in Los Angeles, where he spent the entire time ‘flirting’ and ‘teasing’ her.
Honestly, it really bothered me to hear she claimed Jared Leto just walked in on her completely naked, acting like it was no big deal. It sounded so incredibly uncomfortable and dismissive of her boundaries.
‘I thought maybe this was just what adult men do,’ La Rue added.
A representative for Jared Leto has refuted claims made by several women. In a statement to Air Mail, they said the women’s messages were not sexually suggestive or improper, and that one of the women even applied for a job as Leto’s assistant, suggesting their interactions were professional and appropriate.
