Jared Leto has finally found his missing Oscar after it mysteriously disappeared for more than three years

As a dedicated follower and avid movie enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with Jared Leto upon hearing his latest revelation about finding his missing Oscar after three long years. You see, I too have had my fair share of misplacing valuable items only to miraculously rediscover them years later (though admittedly, not quite as prestigious as an Academy Award).

3 years after admitting that he hadn’t seen it since 2018, Jared Leto has announced that he managed to locate the Oscar he had misplaced.

On Sunday, the 52-year-old movie star shared a slideshow full of new snaps featuring him holding up his Academy Award with a cheeky caption, nodding to its disappearance.

‘Found my Oscar,’ he captioned his post, which received more than 248,815 likes and thousands of comments from fans congratulating him on locating the trophy.

In the initial photo, he’s clearly delighted, showing off his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor as he takes a selfie in front of a bathroom mirror.

The next showed an up-close photo of just the award, which stands 13.5 inches tall, weighs 8.5 pounds and has his name engraved on the front.

The third picture depicted Leto grinning while firmly gripping the award, earned for his outstanding acting in Dallas Buyers Club (2013).

He didn’t offer any additional information about the exact timing of discovering his Oscar from the Academy, nor did he reveal its previous location.

2021 saw Jared Leto admit during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden that it had been three years since he last laid eyes on his Oscar.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share an observation I made recently: “I realized with surprise that I hadn’t seen this item for about three years, without even knowing it was gone.

He shared that although no one explicitly told him, he realized after moving houses in Los Angeles that something was missing. When they moved, it seemed to have vanished mysteriously.

30 Seconds To Mars lead singer mentioned that the missing item might be in their recently moved house, however, despite searching extensively from top to bottom, nobody has managed to find it yet.

He did have a positive outlook regardless of its whereabouts as he said: ‘I hope it’s in good hands wherever it is, but, you know, we haven’t seen it for quite some time.’

Corden laughed as he asked if Leto actually believes someone else has it.

The actor stated: ‘It could be true. It’s not something one would casually discard in the garbage. I’m hoping that someone is taking good care of it.’

He reminisced about the evening when he received it, sharing it with numerous others throughout the night. I barely had possession of it myself, as it seemed to be in constant circulation. Although it’s worn and marked up, it brought joy to many as they took photos with it. It feels good to spread the joy, so I hope someone is taking proper care of it.

In 2014, he admitted to Entertainment Tonight Canada that he unintentionally allowed certain colleagues to snap a photo with his phone after it had slipped out of his hands.

During the acceptance speech, he honored his mother, whom he acknowledged as the one who instilled in him the ability to dream, and also the 36 million individuals who unfortunately lost their fight against AIDS.

In the movie “Dallas Buyers Club,” actor Jared Leto took on the role of Rayon, a transgender woman battling HIV and grappling with substance abuse issues.

His critically acclaimed performance as Rayon also earned him a Golden Globe and SAG Award.

Notable personalities such as Angelina Jolie, Whoopi Goldberg, Matt Damon, Frances McDormand, and Marlon Brando are among those who have temporarily or mistakenly been deprived of their Academy Awards.

Jolie shared with The Telegraph that she presented her award statuette to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, after winning in 2000. However, the statue disappeared following Marcheline’s passing in 2007.

‘I didn’t actually lose it,’ Jolie said in 2009. ‘But nobody knows where it is at the moment.’

In case you misplace your Oscar, it’s essential that you inform the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences promptly about the loss.

Depending on the circumstances, they may provide you with a replacement statue.
