Jar Jar’s Redemption? Ahmed Best Reveals Shocking Star Wars Future
In the last while, enthusiasts have been treated to an extravaganza filled with numerous unveilings set within a distant galaxy. A multitude of personalities attended, including Ahmed Best himself.
Most notably recognized for portraying Jar Jar Binks, and while the backlash he faced for this role was intense, it’s worth noting that he gained fame in Star Wars for this character. However, in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, he played Jedi Kelleran Beq, a role he would gladly take on again.
During the era of Order 66, Beq served as a Jedi. As glimpses into the past reveal, it was Bek who rescued Grogu from the clone troopers. Previously, Best had portrayed Beq on the live TV competition “Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge,” which rekindled affection for him among fans who had largely overlooked him for almost two decades prior to that.
Previously, Best had talked about this subject and was eager to discuss it again at this year’s Star Wars Celebration. In an interview during the event, Best expressed his willingness to don the Jedi Master robe once more. In his own words, “I am always prepared to wear the robe again. I know where he went in my mind, so maybe we can make that a reality someday.
The Mandalorian & Grogu Is Coming, but Season 4 of the TV Show Isn’t Guranteed
The fourth season of “The Mandalorian” hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there’s a possibility that the character Kelleran Beq could still appear. Discussing potential roles for Beq in future projects, Best expressed his belief that his Jedi Master would make an excellent teacher. Given that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are filling in the thirty-year gap between “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens,” there might be a spot for Beq to educate some young students at Luke Skywalker’s new Jedi academy.
Kelleran Beq expresses his aspiration to become a teacher. He feels it’s a calling for him. Interestingly, despite being one of the toughest Jedi to have worn the robes, his deepest passion lies in nurturing young Jedi. So, it would be fascinating to explore the concept that teachers are like superheroes and delve into what this means in terms of being a Jedi and mentoring the upcoming generation of Jedi.
Kellan Beq can be seen on Season 3 of The Mandalorian, streaming now on Disney+.
