Janet Jackson ‘gearing up for NEW Las Vegas residency at iconic venue’ – five years after Metamorphosis concerts

Janet Jackson is preparing for a fresh Las Vegas performance residency starting from December, marking a return five years after wrapping up her series of shows at the Park MGM.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the legendary performer, now 58 years old, is on the brink of finalizing a residency agreement with Resorts World. The anticipated performance series is slated to debut in December, as reported by TMZ.
Reports also suggest that the artist famous for Velvet Rope hits will be celebrating New Year’s Eve with a unique performance at the venue.
The duration of the residency is expected to be brief, as yet unspecified specifics such as timing are still under discussion.
As a dedicated follower, I was reported to have been offered a residency in London, but I decided to decline that opportunity since the Vegas deal turned out to be more financially rewarding.
She recently wrapped her much-anticipated Together Again Tour which saw her hitting 35 dates.

Celine Dion is reportedly in advanced talks for a personal residency at the venue, set to begin either in November 2024 or early 2025, contingent upon the progress of her struggle against Stiff Person Syndrome.
Dion last performed live during her Courage world tour in Newark, New Jersey on March 8 20220.
She then canceled her tour amid the Covid pandemic.
Previously, she held two highly successful Las Vegas residencies: “A New Day” from 2003 to 2007, and “Celine” from 2011 until 2019, both of which broke records for attendance and popularity.
Last month during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, the star returned to the stage and left spectators amazed with her rendition of Hymne à L’amour, a song famously performed by the legendary French musician, Edith Piaf.
Last month, Janet shared insights about how she has been dealing with the passing of her brother, Michael Jackson, who died in June 2009, approximately 15 years ago.
The artist-actress spoke to the BBC regarding their joint project “Scream” from 1995, which marked Michael’s substantial debut following the serious accusations of child sexual abuse in 1993, an event that deeply affected both his personal life and professional journey.
During her current Together Again tour, the award-winning musician plays the song while on stage alongside video clips of her deceased brother. Each night, it’s a poignant experience for her to hear his voice and see him, as it stirs memories of their shared past.
In an interview, the artist from Gary, Indiana shared memories of composing the song with her deceased brother, stating, “We penned that tune in Mike’s New York City apartment.”
Janet mentioned that she often finds herself re-experiencing ‘the entire trip,’ listening to him sing about it, and thinking back on ‘the challenges he faced during that period’ as he worked tirelessly to restore his public image and profession, while grappling with the allegations against him.
“Janet explained, ‘Growing up, I was his younger sister and always there with him. I’ve served as his support system.’ That’s a part I’ve always played.”

The tune climbed to number five on the Billboard Hot 100 after spending 17 weeks there and went on to win the Best Music Video award at the 1996 Grammy Awards.
In the monochrome music video, the renowned duo showcased their harmonious collaboration, a complex endeavor as per Janet’s accounts in the documentary series, since music business officials often aimed to separate them.
In 2022, Janet expressed that it was a challenging situation: “Michael worked at night, while I worked during the day,” she said. “His record company would isolate his entire filming area, preventing me from seeing what was happening behind the scenes. They kept me away from set.”
It seemed as though they were intentionally making our efforts feel like a fierce competition. This action upset me deeply, as I saw myself not as an opponent but as a companion in the struggle. I didn’t go there to fight him, but to work together.
Janet expressed that her feelings of nostalgia while working together with her sibling didn’t live up to her expectations during the making of the video.
