In a fresh development following his captivating, space-themed exhibit “POSTCARDS FROM SPACE” in Chengdu last autumn, Singaporean artist Jahan Loh is venturing beyond traditional paintings by creating a unique astronaut toy instead.

In this artwork displayed at Le Freeport, Loh depicts a visionary future where humans colonize distant exoplanets or other celestial bodies. This series incorporates elements from Eastern art, popular culture symbols, and science fiction, resulting in thought-provoking, dreamlike, digitally inspired images that reflect the theme of interplanetary migration.

Titled after the imaginary heavenly body, KEPLER-22B, this toy showcases a pair of astronauts, one girl and one boy, dressed in pink and white spacesuits, each suit adorned with intricate patterns that seem to blossom across the material. The duo stands united, holding hands over what seems to be a lantern placed between them.

Created in collaboration with XMASTERPIECE, each polystone sculpture is meticulously crafted, hand-painted and assembled by a team of artisans. The “POSTCARDS FROM SPACE 天山星::KEPLER-22B” toy will be available for purchase starting August 8. Head to CONT9CT’s website to pre-register now.
