Jana Kramer emotionally reveals she nearly miscarried son Roman as she celebrates his first birthday

As a dedicated follower who has walked through the tumultuous journey of infertility and miscarriage, I find Jana Kramer’s story incredibly inspiring. Her emotional disclosure about her struggles to conceive and maintain a pregnancy resonates deeply with me.

This week, Jana Kramer shared a heartfelt revelation on Instagram as she celebrated her son Roman’s first birthday.

40-year-old actress and her ex-soccer player spouse, Alan Russell, had their baby last year, and they got married in Scotland this past July, which is his hometown.

Previously, Jana disclosed that during the early stages of pregnancy with her son, Roman, she almost suffered a miscarriage just a day before his first birthday.

8 weeks into her pregnancy, she began experiencing heavy bleeding. Tears filled her eyes as memories of previous miscarriages flooded back, a tragic recurrence she had faced in the past.

Despite the circumstances of Roman’s salvation, Jana offers an inspiring message to anyone facing infertility struggles: ‘Never give up hope.’

In a candid manner, she penned down about her current emotional state, saying: ‘As Roman celebrates his first birthday tomorrow, I’m experiencing a whirlwind of feelings, but above all, I feel incredibly grateful.’

Jana remembered: About seven and a half weeks into my pregnancy, I began experiencing heavy bleeding. Tears filled my eyes as I realized the situation all too well, having suffered multiple miscarriages in the past. However, I was taken aback with surprise when we detected a heartbeat later that same day.

The actress from One Tree Hill was told that she had a prolonged bleeding within her body. Since the bleeding was larger than the fetus at that moment, there was an equal chance (50%) that she might experience a miscarriage.

Jana remarked: “I’m incredibly grateful for Allan as he saw a positive aspect, but all I heard was the news that I might lose my baby. For the following 8-10 weeks, I would experience bleeding, which is extremely unsettling when you’re pregnant. However, the bleeding stopped and Roman continued to grow.

She sadly went on: ‘Next came a fibroid that expanded, which medical professionals warned might affect the placenta.’

Jana went on to say: “Each day, I fervently prayed that this little miracle would keep going strong. So, when it came to inscribing our cherished prayers and verses of Scripture onto the foundation of our home, all I could think was ‘keep pumping, little one’.

The Instagram post featured a photo showing the exposed wood from one of Jana and Allan’s home doorframes, adorned with the message: “Keep drumming, little one,” accompanied by a heart symbol.

A different image depicted what appeared to be Allan scribbling the message: ‘You’ll stay secure, dear,’ on an as-of-yet unpainted door frame.

In a post accompanying the two earlier pictures alongside a newer one where she’s holding Roman, Jana expressed it as: ‘A look at the past and present, after my prayers were answered.’

Originating from Michigan, this individual stated, ‘I’ve experienced several miscarriages, and it’s not unnoticed that I became pregnant right away when we started trying.’

She expressed: ‘I wish for you, regardless of your age or duration, any setbacks or hardships experienced, may you never abandon hope. I understand it’s tough, and I apologize… yet I guarantee you, there is a way that both God and the rhythm of their hearts will navigate through.’

During our babymoon in Florida, as Allan and I were enjoying our time off before the baby arrived, I found myself admitted to the hospital due to a bacterial infection towards the end of my pregnancy.

I couldn’t help but express admiration towards my remarkable partner, who stayed by my side at the hospital for a full two days instead of returning to our hotel to rest.

Besides Roman, Jana is also a mother to two kids – Jolie, aged seven, and Jace, who’s four years old. These children are shared with her ex-husband, the former NFL player Mike Caussin.

In 2015, Jana wed her third spouse, Mike. However, prior to their separation in 2021, he admitted to infidelity with several women during their marriage.

In the year 2023, I proudly stepped forward to announce my Instagram debut alongside my beloved partner, Jana, in January. Our bond deepened swiftly, as we exchanged engagement vows just a few short months later in May. The joy multiplied when our little miracle, Roman, arrived in November. And to top it all off, this July, we sealed our love by officially becoming husband and wife.
