Jamie Theakston steps back from Heart Radio following cancer diagnosis

As a longtime admirer of Jamie Theakston’s charismatic personality and exceptional work on Heart Breakfast, I was genuinely saddened to hear about his recent diagnosis with stage 1 laryngeal cancer. However, I must say, this man never ceases to amaze me! His resilience, positivity, and unwavering spirit are truly inspiring.

Radio presenter Jamie Theakston has shared that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

Today, Theakston, who co-hosts Heart Breakfast with Amanda Holden, announced on Instagram that he’s been diagnosed with stage 1 laryngeal cancer following a biopsy of a lesion taken from his vocal cords.

Despite this, the broadcaster reassured listeners that his outlook is “extremely optimistic,” but he plans to take a break from Heart Radio until October to let his voice recover.

In other words, I’ve been diagnosed with cancer, but I refuse to let it control my life. My outlook is optimistic, and I’m aiming to return here in October.

For now, it has been advised that I take a break from speaking and let JK and Amanda handle things, as they are quite competent.

Meanwhile, Theakston’s co-host Amanda Holden shared her support for him on her own Instagram page.
