Jamie Lee Curtis shared that she developed a fondness for Emma Mackey and thought Jack Lowden was pleasant, even though he played a somewhat unlikeable character in Ella McCay.
The 67-year-old actor recently spoke with HELLO! magazine about his new movie, directed by James L. Brooks. The film centers on Ella, a character who becomes a state governor while also navigating her personal relationships.
Jamie, who plays Aunt Helen in the political comedy-drama, shared that she immediately connected with Emma. She said, ‘Emma is a wonderful person, and I felt an instant connection with her when I met her at director James L. Brooks’ house. I honestly fell in love with her right away.’
Talking about Jack Lowden, who plays Ella’s husband in the show, she joked that he’s very handsome and a genuinely nice guy, despite portraying such an unlikeable character.
Emma felt an immediate connection with Jamie, describing her as kind, welcoming, and generous, someone who makes everyone feel comfortable.

She’s a joy to be around, and her passion for her work is contagious. Being with people like her makes you feel comfortable and gives you a real sense of support when you’re going through a tough time.
The movie also stars Woody Harrelson, Rebecca Hall and Ayo Edebiri.
The story follows a hopeful 34-year-old lieutenant governor as she balances personal family problems with the demands of her career, all while getting ready to become governor after her mentor steps down. The setting is an unspecified state.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen a lot of unexpected turns! Recently, our state’s governor, who’d been in office for years, surprised everyone by accepting a role in President-elect Obama’s cabinet. It was a total game-changer, and really shook things up around here!
Jamie recently faced criticism online for being labeled a ‘nepo baby’ – someone who benefits from family connections in the industry – after she described her success as simply luck.
Jamie Lee Curtis, the famous Halloween actress, revealed in an interview with Variety that she wasn’t a strong student and didn’t have a clear career path until she unexpectedly began acting. Her parents were Hollywood stars – her father was Tony Curtis and her mother was Janet Leigh, known for her role in Psycho.
In a recent interview, the Academy Award-winning actress admitted she doesn’t feel particularly skilled. She described herself as an average student – ‘a D+ student, maybe even a C- if the teacher was lenient’ – and mentioned she was a cheerleader.

She explained that she felt like an oddball growing up. As a sixteen-year-old, she was very energetic and had a big personality, but didn’t excel academically or in sports or drama. She stumbled into acting quite unexpectedly.
I remember hearing how she got her start – it was amazing! Apparently, a family friend who lived in Beverly Hills suggested she try out for an episode of Nancy Drew Mysteries on ABC, and that’s really where everything took off for her. It was a total turning point!
She sent her audition tape to Universal Studios and quickly received a contract offer.
The next day, I received a contract offer, and I decided to leave college to pursue acting. I was earning $235 a week at the time, she explained.
Jamie Lee received criticism online for her comments about succeeding in Hollywood, particularly for minimizing the help she received from her famous parents.
