Jamie Lee Curtis performs her own STUNTS at 65 on last day of filming for Freakier Friday with Lindsay Lohan

As a long-time fan of the delightful and heartwarming “Freaky Friday” franchise, I must say, it’s a sheer joy to witness the reunion of the beloved Coleman family on the big screen once more! With Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan stepping back into their iconic roles as Tess and Anna, respectively, it’s like revisiting cherished memories from my own childhood.

In the second month of shooting for the highly anticipated movie “Freaky Friday”, star Jamie Lee Curtis demonstrated her dedication to achieving the ideal performance in a particular scene by performing her own stunts herself.

Towards the end of the show, the 65-year-old actress was repeatedly seen leaping onto the car’s bonnet, all while wearing a snug hot pink dress and tall gray boots up to her knees.

After director Nisha Ganatra called out “cut”, Curtis hurriedly dashed over to her styling team on set for a quick fix-up of her hair, makeup, and whatever else might be required for another take.

Another photograph displays the main actress, slightly off-center on the film set, as she prepares her lengthy, silver hair for another take.

Shortly following their acquisition of the necessary elements in that specific setting, Lindsay Lohan, her fellow actor, posted on her Instagram: ‘Production completed for SCARIER SATURDAY.’

In a heartfelt display, the actress, returning to portray Anna, praised everyone involved for making the filming process as enjoyable as it could be.

She expressed her gratitude to the talented cast, crew, producers, and everyone at Disney Studios for their dedication and hard work in creating this film. She can’t wait to unveil it to everyone!

38-year-old Lohan shared that production on her upcoming fantasy comedy is wrapping up, posting a picture of herself joyfully pedaling a bike with a broad grin.

She seems incredibly joyful, given her wide grin, casual attire consisting of denim cut-offs, a black blazer layered over a vibrant top with orange, red, and yellow hues, green sneakers, and a helmet adorning her long, fiery red hair.

Eager to match the hype, Curtis too shared on his Instagram account to contribute to the marketing drive for the movie currently being fine-tuned in the editing suite with additional effects and enhancements, set to release in cinemas next year.

She shared, “We’ve put immense effort into maintaining our tale as a secret until its official reveal. However, occasionally, a snapshot surfaces, revealing nothing about the plot or characters, but it does highlight the excitement and camaraderie we experienced during #FREAKIERFRIDAY while shooting.”

The two actresses can be seen sharing a sweet hug while frolicking on beach and the ocean water. 

Previously known child actress accentuated her feminine silhouette in a stylish green-patterned jumpsuit with shorts, and she gathered her long red hair into a casual ponytail, keeping it off her face. Meanwhile, her fellow actor opted for a timeless black wetsuit during her aquatic scenes.

As a lifelong movie enthusiast, I can confidently say that the cinematic adventure we’ll embark on next year will be one for the books! Just imagine it… theaters, those magical places where we gather in the dark to laugh, cry, and scream together. The anticipation of the popcorn popping, the sweet scent of candy wafting through the air, all while sharing a collective experience that transcends the screen. It’s been too long since I’ve savored such an occasion, but until then, I eagerly await the upcoming masterpiece from @lindsaylohan and @disneystudios.

For several decades, she has been eager to perform most of her own stunts. This started when she starred in the action-comedy “True Lies” (1994) alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, under the direction of James Cameron, as reported by Screen Rant.

The actress was eager to perform her own risky stunts, including the well-known helicopter and limo scenes, yet she only implemented minimal safety measures to facilitate a quick exit if an incident occurred.

It turns out Curtis only requested a knife and wire cutters for her safety during those potentially sketchy stunts in True Lies. 

In addition, she bravely performed many of her own stunts during her award-winning portrayal in the 2022 comedy-drama film Everything Everywhere All At Once, demonstrating her readiness to face possible hazards on set.

I was thrilled to kick off the shooting of the Freaky Friday sequel on June 24th, as Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis joined forces for this exciting project. We shared a fun moment outside our trailers on set, capturing a photo together and posting playful videos showcasing various poses, all while sharing smiles and laughter.

2025 will see the return of the Coleman family to cinemas, as they continue their story in the newly-produced Freaky Friday sequel! This was announced recently.

For 21 years now, audiences haven’t witnessed Curtis reprising the character of Tess Coleman or Lohan portraying Anna Coleman (Tess’s eldest daughter) on screen.

The new story also incorporates characters created by Heather Hach and Leslie Dixon, the duo who wrote the screenplay for the 2003 reboot. 

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that several esteemed cast members from the initial film are returning to breathe life into their characters once more. Among them are Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.

Among the other actors featured are Sophia Hammons, Julia Butters, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Manny Jacinto. Interestingly, Manny Jacinto was seen for the first time on set on Wednesday evening in Los Angeles, shooting one of the final scenes alongside Curtis and Sophia Hammons.

In a friendly display, the three main actors exchanged warm embraces as they concluded shooting the movie. Moreover, the lead actor of Halloween was spotted giving multiple hugs to various team members, even extending one to the film’s director, Nisha Ganatra.

Curtis disclosed to EW that Manny portrays Lindsay’s husband in the show, yet he didn’t reveal any more details. However, Lohan commented, “Manny is just delightful, so humorous.”

In 2003, the initial re-launch movie was a global success at the box office, earning an impressive total of $160.8 million against a production budget of only $26 million.

At this point, Disney has only revealed that Freakier Friday is scheduled to be released in 2025.
