Jamie Laing to be joined by a very familiar face as his Radio 1 co-host Vick Hope heads on maternity leave
Jamie Laing will soon have a well-known colleague stepping in as his Radio 1 co-host, Vick Hope, goes on maternity leave.
35-year-old Vick, who’s about to welcome her first child with DJ Calvin Harris, aged 41, wrapped up her radio show last week for the final time.
It’s now clear that Sophie Habboo, Jamie’s spouse, will take over the role on the Going Home show instead.
The pair currently co-host their podcast, NewlyWeds. Lately, they’ve shared that the show will be taking a brief hiatus.
Last week on Instagram, they shared: “Our podcast will be temporarily pausing – just for a short while.

At a later time, a source informed The Sun: “Sophie is set to become part of the Radio 1 team, and everyone is thrilled about her addition as she’s expected to share her dynamic relationship with husband Jaime on-air.
After podcasting for numerous years, they’ve become seasoned professionals. Yet, this particular occasion holds immense significance for them, and they are brimming with excitement.
This situation might open up limitless possibilities for them as a pair. In fact, they could become the contemporary counterparts of Richard and Judy.
Following the announcement of her pregnancy, Vick was flooded with support from the Radio 1 team.
Her co-presenter, Jamie took the opportunity to tell her she will make a fantastic mum on air.
Jamie expressed: “You’re truly an exceptional friend, a remarkable individual, and I have no doubt that you’ll make a fantastic mother.
Vick and Calvin’s newborn child will embark on a captivating journey from the get-go, as they possess multiple properties, such as a farm in Ibiza and a sprawling 10-acre property in the picturesque Cotswolds.
It’s said that the couple are currently constructing a grand house on their Cotswolds property, which they plan to make their primary home.

In September 2023, the couple officially got married, but they didn’t share the news until later that they were expecting a baby. They generally preferred to maintain privacy about their relationship and avoid too much attention from the public eye.
Vick stressed on air that she didn’t want to make a big deal out of her pregnancy.
She mentioned casually: “People have been asking if I’ll make an announcement, but let me clarify that I’m not in a position to do so, much like how a king doesn’t need to make announcements.
Let me be straightforward: Matters that are intimate or confidential make me uncomfortable. However, sharing a quirky anecdote such as the time I ate a kebab from a trash can? That’s a different story altogether.
As a conscientious follower, I’ve always respected boundaries when it comes to sharing. This is mainly due to my personal preference for savoring these moments alone and in tranquility.
