On Tuesday, Jamie Laing publicly shared the heartbreaking news about the passing of his beloved grandmother, who was fondly called Granny Scotland, and expressed a moving tribute for her.
In the most recent installment of their Nearly Parents podcast, the 36-year-old founder of Candy Kittens, along with his wife Sophie Habboo (age 30), shared some unfortunate news.
Speaking directly into the camera, Jamie conveyed some heartbreaking information: ‘Unfortunately, we’ve received some deeply saddening news. I’m referring to my beloved Granny Scotland who sadly passed away over the weekend.’

‘So recently,’ Sophie said.
Jamie continued: ‘But she was 94, 95, years old.
‘She was just really old, and she was sore and in pain. She just wanted to just go, I think.
Instead of being a sad occasion, it ought to be a joyful one, given that she had an exceptional, remarkable life.
‘Yeah, she did, but it is sad because she was just… what a lady,’ a sombre Sophie said.
‘An amazing lady and so incredible.’ Jamie emphasised.
Sophie responded with, “We adore you, Granny Scotland,” before Jamie disclosed, “We love you tremendously. And now, her lifetime wish of being recognized by everyone has come true.
‘Sophie asked: ‘Was that her lifelong dream?’
Jamie replied: ‘I think part of her would’ve loved to be famous. In some sort of way.’
He continued: ‘To you Granny, we love you so much and yeah.’
‘We love you,’ Sophie added.
In November 2024, Jamie’s grandmother made an appearance on a podcast episode, during which he inquired about the key to living a contented life.
She replied: “One of the things that brings me immense joy is my ability to show love to others.
‘I love to give somebody love when they need it and help them. And I’ve done it all my life.
In addition, I am passionate about animals, and my dream is to live among them. You see, I have a deep affection for them.
Jamie replied, “That’s really kind of you, Grandma,” then followed up by asking, “If you could talk to your younger self, what would you say?
She responded: “To be honest, it’s hard for me to say because I’ve experienced a great deal of both joy and sorrow throughout my life. Regrettably, I’ve been through two marriages.
‘And, I don’t know what I would say. I would like to relive my life all over again.’
‘Oh Granny would you?’ he asked.
She responded, “Yes, I certainly would. In fact, I must say that lately, surprisingly, I’ve been experiencing the most joyful period of my life. I feel incredibly content with the world.
