Jamie Laing makes his first public appearance since announcing wife Sophie Habboo is pregnant as he joins business panel at SXSW London

On Wednesday, at Shoreditch Town Hall during the initial SXSW London event, Jamie Laing stepped out in public for the first time since announcing his upcoming fatherhood, participating in a business discussion.

Previously known “Made In Chelsea” cast member, aged 36, together with his spouse, Sophie Haboo (age 30), revealed they are expecting their first baby through a heartwarming social media update on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, with joyful baby news swirling around, Jamie promptly resumed work, participating in a discussion about creator-led businesses alongside Candy Kittens co-founder Ed Sweet Williams and moderator Chrysi Philalithes, during the week-long festival.

As I casually donned a dark blue T-shirt, jeans, and a sporty cap, I felt right at home while engaging with the crowd about my ventures, Candy Kittens and Jampot Productions.

With a microphone connected to him, the television and radio personality showcased an energetic performance while speaking, only a day following the excitement of announcing his baby news to fans.

In a touching video, they revealed their happy news while watching an ultrasound, with Sophie beaming joyfully as she gazed at the screen.

The post was briefly titled with a heart symbol, quickly gathering warm greetings from their admirers.

Sophie and Jamie tied the knot in a grand Spanish wedding ceremony in the year 2023, with their well-known friends and relatives present. They had first met on the show “Made In Chelsea” back in 2019.

The announcement was made shortly after Sophie started working with Jamie on his Radio 1 afternoon program, following the departure of Vick Hope for maternity leave.

35-year-old Vick, soon to be a mother with 41-year-old DJ Calvin Harris, recently hosted her final radio program at the station last week.

Sophie and Jamie currently co-host the podcast “NewlyWeds,” but they’ve announced that it will be taking a brief hiatus.

Last week, I shared on Instagram that our podcast will be briefly pausing. However, it’s just a temporary halt.

At the upcoming festival, Jamie makes an appearance following a heartening FaceTime conversation where he motivated his friend Sam Thompson, who is gearing up for day four of his 260-mile endurance test.

The contestant on I’m A Celebrity, aged 34, who’s participating in the Soccer Aid Challenge and has already gathered more than £604,000 in donations, was encouraged by a heartfelt note of encouragement from his previous colleague on Made In Chelsea.

Following his own challenging marathon for charity, Jamie, aged 36, could perfectly understand how Sam felt as he neared the halfway point.

In March, a host on BBC Radio 1 completed a remarkable feat by running 30 miles each day for five straight days, traversing the country. The entire nation rallied behind him, and he successfully collected an astounding £2.3 million in donations.

‘It’s day three baby, it’s the worst. It’s the worst’, Jamie laughed.

Sam screamed: ‘I can’t move man! My Leg!’

Jamie told me, “Hang in there, because I’ve been through what you’re facing now. It’s tough, I know, and it might feel like your body is begging for you to quit. But remember, just keep pushing forward, one moment at a time.

‘One foot in front of the other, you don’t stop.’

Sam felt his eyes well up: “Your appearance a moment ago has truly brightened my day. Recalling the sight of you running always left me in awe, as you served as an inspiration.

‘The fact that you’re just giving me your energy and your time man, I’m so grateful.’

Jamie expressed: “What you’re doing is absolutely fantastic, it’s all for a wonderful reason. Keep pushing forward, I truly appreciate you, I care deeply for you, and everyone supports you in this. You’re exceptional.

‘You got this Sam!’, Jamie’s wife Sophie Habboo cheered in the background.

To successfully meet the task, Sam needs to run a marathon over the course of five days, with periods of cycling in between, all while guaranteeing that the ball will reach its destination by June 6, perfectly timed for the start of the event on Sunday, June 15.
