Jamie Laing Breaks Down After Ultra Marathon Triumph for Comic Relief
As I crossed the finish line on day three of my demanding Ultra Marathon journey for Comic Relief, I found myself choking back tears. This arduous challenge has truly pushed me to my limits, but the cause and the camaraderie among fellow runners make every step worthwhile.
The Radio 1 host, aged 36, has recently amassed a remarkable sum of £270,000 in donations. On Wednesday, Vick Hope announced this heartening update to her co-host Jamie during their radio broadcast.
I, an over-the-moon enthusiast, am embarking on an epic challenge: running five consecutive Ultra Marathons over the course of five days, covering a staggering 150 miles! The grand finale? Crossing that finish line in Salford, Manchester on Friday, March 21. This fanatic journey awaits me!
After a difficult day of his endeavor, Jamie’s encouraging spouse, Sophie Habboo (aged 30), was standing by at Loughborough University, ready to welcome him.
Jamie appeared deeply moved as he collapsed, followed by Sophie’s comforting hug and encouragement from friends.
On the third day, Jamie posted a reflection on Instagram: “Completed day three – truthfully, I wasn’t sure I could make it through today. At around 25 kilometers, I felt like I had nothing left to give, both mentally and physically. I was drained.

This pain is unlike anything I’ve ever encountered before. It feels as if I’m treading on shards of glass, and my thoughts have been rather pessimistic. However, whenever the urge to give up surfaced, there was always a spark that ignited me – a word of encouragement, a donation, something that kept me going!
“The appreciation I feel for the help I’ve received is beyond anything I can express in words. This has been the toughest challenge I’ve faced, and doing it all by myself would have been a thousand times more difficult.
We’ll continue our journey tomorrow… I want to express my deepest gratitude for your support and generosity. Every contribution truly means a lot! If you’re willing and able, there’s a donation link in my bio.
‘Thank you so much to everyone!! You guys are amazing❤️’
During the latter part of his morning run, Jamie received a much-appreciated surge of motivation as he learned that Radio 1 listeners had increased donations to an impressive £180,000. To his surprise, this year’s Traitors winners, Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown, unexpectedly appeared to support him.
Man, oh man! I was on cloud nine, sprinting side by side with my favorites in the group, from the initial checkpoint to the next one. They injected an electrifying dose of excitement and vitality into my day, making it unforgettable, Jamie!
On this coming Wednesday, I’ll be embarking on a remarkable journey starting from Market Harborough. I’ll be making my way, step by step, through Wigston, Leicester, ultimately reaching Loughborough University, where I’ll cross an extraordinary finish line. This special day will see me welcomed not just by any group, but by esteemed guests, enthusiastic students, and the local community, as they cheer me on, acknowledging that I’ve passed the halfway mark of this incredible challenge.
The funds generated during Radio 1’s Ultra Marathon event, co-hosted by Jamie, for Red Nose Day will be essential in supplying resources that ensure people have food and shelter, protect children from harm, and offer aid to families struggling due to conflicts, both locally and globally.

1) On the first day of his ultra marathon, Jamie surpassed anticipations by finishing in just 5 hours and 44 minutes while also consuming more than 4,000 calories through exertion.
At the finish line, a delightful surprise awaited Jamie – his mother appeared, beaming with pride and open arms, offering encouragement as she cheered him on.
In recognition of Jamie’s tireless efforts, the Mayor of Kettering, Cllr Craig Skinner, bestowed upon him a commemorative half-marathon ID badge as a heartfelt token of gratitude.
The Mayor expressed, “This small gesture is just a symbol of our gratitude. It was something we accomplished last week – our inaugural half marathon in Kettering. Therefore, we’d like to present it to you as a representation of your resilience.
As a devoted follower, I’m excited to share that I’ll be participating in Radio 1’s Ultra Marathon Man, alongside Jamie Laing, for Red Nose Day. This epic event will air live on Radio 1 and BBC Sounds throughout the week, with video highlights gracing Radio 1’s social media channels.
The charity event takes place following the disclosure that Jamie had been robbed for the second time, only a week after an attempted burglary at his residence in West London.
At 6 am, Jamie and his wife Sophie were abruptly awakened by noisy thumps outside, as masked individuals in balaclavas attempted a forced entry into their residence.
After the harrowing experience I recently went through, I found myself once again confronted by an attempt at theft when an intruder broke into my vehicle parked outside my residence.
Following a distressing incident, I unfortunately fell victim to another attempted car break-in when someone forced entry into my car parked near home.

On his Radio 1 broadcast, Jamie shared that he resides in London, where he was with his spouse Sophie. They were about to enter their vehicle.
The vehicle is usually found near our residence, and since we’re in London (I presume), small items might disappear from time to time.
Approaching the car, I noticed it seemed odd – the door was slightly ajar, prompting me to wonder if perhaps someone had somehow gained entry.
‘Came up to the car and we had been robbed.
‘They left the pineapple in one seat and the melon in another seat.
I asked my wife if she left some items in the car, and she replied with a negative, so I’m unsure if this means she didn’t leave them or if there is some kind of trace they might have left behind.
Previously, the cast members from Made In Chelsea lived in Chelsea apartments. However, they left the neighborhood recently, as they purchased a house for their family in Notting Hill last year.
On their “Newly Weds” podcast, Jamie confessed that he was completely undressed when he detected strange sounds, prompting him to act swiftly.
At 5:45 in the morning, a series of loud booms startled me, prompting me to exclaim, “What on earth is that?” Sophie was soundly sleeping beside me at the time, so I rose from bed, unclothed, and ventured downstairs to investigate.
Peering from our apartment’s front, I saw nothing but silence. No deliveries, no passersby, just darkness all around. Yet, upon entering our living room and gazing through the window, a different scene unfolded.
Every night, I keep my window wide open for sleep, and unexpectedly, I caught sight of an individual attempting to forcefully enter the apartment below, masked by a balaclava.
Upon considering a bold action reminiscent of Rambo, I found myself overwhelmed with fear, exclaiming repetitively, “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!” instead.
Jamie promptly phoned the authorities, inquiring about their arrival time and whether it would be necessary for us to evacuate the residence.
Overwhelmed, I found myself seeking solace at the bottom of our staircase, pressing myself firmly against the front door, acting as a makeshift door stop.
