Jamie Cullum was spotted arriving in Newcastle ahead of the 2025 Mercury Music Awards on Thursday.
The 46-year-old jazz-pop singer arrived in a city in the north of England, while his wife, Sophie Dahl, had attended a fancy event in London the night before.
Jaime looked sharp in a black jacket, a grey shirt, and black jeans, finished off with black sneakers.
He arrived with a suitcase and backpack, joining Will Hodgkinson, Sophie Williams, Phil Alexander, and Jack Howells before the glamorous awards ceremony began.
Forty-eight-year-old Sophie was also at a dinner party in London, hosted by Katie Grand & Perfect Magazine in collaboration with De Beers and Frieze Masters.
The former model looked effortlessly elegant in a black lace dress with sheer sleeves.
She teamed it with black tights and a pair of leopard print boots to complete her chic ensemble.
Jamie and Sophie aren’t often seen together in public. The last time they were photographed together was at the 2024 launch party for ‘Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop’.
In 2021, Jamie shared with Red the key to maintaining a happy marriage with his supermodel wife after ten years together.
He said: ‘Loving her has challenged my perceptions about what it means to live, love and think’.
Jamie also spoke about the importance of ‘growing to meet each other’ in a long-term relationship.
He explained that they both enjoyed reading and cooking for friends. She maintained the same friendships from school, and he did too.
I really appreciate her honesty – I’ve always been drawn to people who tell it like it is. For me, true love means being able to completely open up to someone, flaws and all, and still feel accepted and loved for who you really are.
The pair now share two daughters; Lyra, 14, and Margot, 12.
Jamie once discussed his relationship with Sophie, revealing on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs back in 2012 that he was surprised she ever showed interest in him.
The jazz musician and singer shared that they first connected when he played piano for her at a charity concert.
He said: ‘I didn’t entertain for one second that she would be interested in me.
I figured anyone who met her would be charmed, so I didn’t want to seem overly eager and tried to remain calm and collected.
‘She was living in New York and she had a boyfriend.
‘Six to eight months later she moved back to England and obviously it became more after that.’
Jamie mentioned the height difference between him and his partner – he’s 5’4” and she’s 5’11”. He jokingly said people often mistake him for being around twelve years old.
‘I always looked really young.
When I was in school, an announcement was made during assembly stating that older girls weren’t allowed to pick up and carry Jamie Cullum.
‘I remember at break time being plucked and picked up – I quite liked it.’
