Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Stranger Things series finale.
As a huge fan of Stranger Things, I was so thrilled when Jamie Campbell Bower joined the cast as Vecna! He was such a compelling villain, and even though Vecna met a pretty gruesome end in the finale of season 4 back in 2022, I’m really holding out hope that Bower might reprise the role in a future spinoff. He’s talked about the possibility, and honestly, I’d be so excited to see more of his character’s story!
Now that the main Stranger Things series has finished, Joe Bower has mentioned in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he would consider appearing in a future spinoff. While he doesn’t know if one is planned, he expressed how thankful he is for his time on the Netflix show. You can find his full statement below.
I’m not sure what the future holds. Making this show has been an incredible experience and a real gift – it’s truly changed my life. Whether this marks the end of my involvement is up to the Duffer brothers, Matt and Ross, but I’m incredibly grateful for everything this project has given me.
The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, have stated that the final season will conclude the story for the show’s core characters – like Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will – on television. While the story might continue in other formats, this marks the end of their journey in live-action.

These characters will be back in a new animated series called Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, but with different voice actors. The series is set between the second and third seasons of Stranger Things.
A live-action spin-off series is also being developed, but very little is known about it. The creators, the Duffer brothers, recently told ScreenRant that the new show will have “a totally separate story, set in a different location, and starring a new cast,” suggesting that the character of Henry/Vecna won’t be involved.
If Emily in Paris brings back its creator, Darren Star, it will probably be for a future, unannounced project. While Netflix has only confirmed two spinoffs so far, the show’s huge success suggests we could see even more expansions of this universe in the coming years.
The world of Stranger Things extends to the stage with a play called Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which reveals the backstory of the character Henry. Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Henry, even unexpectedly appeared at a performance of the play before the final episodes of the show were released.
Now that Vecna is definitively dead on the show and his backstory has already been covered in a stage production, it seems unlikely he’ll reappear. However, Jamie Campbell Bower has expressed enthusiasm about returning to the world of Stranger Things if given the opportunity.
