Jamie Borthwick Looks Downcast After Sex Toy Video Controversy

On a thrilling Sunday, I found myself eagerly making my way towards a reunion with my cherished EastEnders companion, all while the shockwaves from yesterday’s steamy sex toy video still reverberated in the air around me.

As I strolled towards the Southwark Playhouse in London, my heart was heavy, for my dear friend and fellow EastEnders actor, Max Bowden, graces its stage currently in Midnight Cowboy.

For his initial public outing following the recent Strictly controversy, Jamie opted for a casual look with a relaxed grey t-shirt and chinos.

Reportedly, the actor known for his soap role and his fellow Strictly Come Dancing cast member Wynne Evans found themselves in trouble with BBC executives following the release of a controversial adult product video, which became public knowledge on a Saturday evening.

Footage acquired by The Sun on Sunday showed the two celebrities, who had previously appeared together on the same show last year, being caught on camera in the backstage area following an incident where one of them, the opera singer, is known to have sent a sex toy to the other, the EastEnders star.

The video was shot merely two days following Wynne’s inappropriate sexual remark towards Jamie regarding dancer Janette Manrara, and it shows Jamie asserting that the toy was delivered to the Utilita Arena reception in Birmingham by Wynne.

In a friendly gesture, the actor grins while brandishing a rubber plaything, subsequently directing the lens towards Wynne, who can be observed working out with skilled dancer Neil Jones, bare-chested.

Jamie commented: “Check out what he got for me! When I unwrapped it, he managed to surprise me, didn’t he? It’s quite amusing.

Jamie reportedly shared the offensive clip on the Strictly contestant Whatsapp group.

According to a source, when BBC officials learned about the inappropriate and unprofessional video that was circulating, they promptly addressed the situation and emphasized to the individuals involved that they needed to conduct themselves in a more professional manner.

In the context of being a family-friendly program, the actors’ behavior was quite childish and inappropriate to the point that several performers found their crude humor unacceptable.

Leaders found themselves taken aback and alarmed, eager to address the matter swiftly, oblivious to the fact that the video had already spread beyond their immediate circle.

They mentioned that the duo found the video amusing, but many others did not, given that Strictly is generally considered a family program.

TopMob have contacted the BBC as well as Wynne and Jamie’s representatives for comment.  

The following day saw Wynne making yet another critique of Strictly, expressing his eagerness to reveal the truth on Friday.

Wynne was caught on tape casually proposing a threesome involving Janette, using a highly disrespectful and derogatory phrase, “rotisserie.

Despite no formal complaint being lodged by Janette, the singer offered an apology for his offensive remark targeting her during a press event for the tour. This came to light with the release of footage, leading to his dismissal from the tour.

At the culmination of the BBC show’s tour in February, Jamie advocated for its continuity, expressing a desire for it to persist following its two-decade run.

The remarks were made not long after Wynne Evans, aged 53, was dismissed from the tour due to a humorous comment he made regarding a potential threesome with co-presenter Janette Manrara, who is 41 years old.

At the London O2 event in February, Jamie expressed: “Strictly is an incredible TV program. The individuals participating in this show are truly impressive.

We all seem to concur, being Strictly enthusiasts, that it’s crucial to preserve and care for it. After all, it’s something we cherish and it provides a tremendous amount of enjoyment to many.

At the time, as reported by The Sun, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse enthusiastically clapped their hands, but Craig Revel Horwood chose to abstain from joining them in applause.

Jamie went on to say: ‘To be completely honest, I’ve had an utterly wonderful time with everyone, particularly my incredible new sister Michelle. She’s simply remarkable.’

Additionally, I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has stood by me during the entire course of this show. It’s been a fantastic journey, and I can’t thank you all enough for your unwavering support.

Jamie went on to win the tour’s glitterball trophy on the final night of the live shows.
