Jamie Borthwick AXED from EastEnders after 19 years on screens after being suspended for using disabled slur on Strictly

It was announced that Jamie Borthwick, who had played a role on EastEnders for 19 years, has been dismissed following his suspension due to the use of an offensive term targeting individuals with disabilities.

BBC bosses have now made the decision to sack the disgraced actor from the show.

According to reports from The Mirror, a representative from BBC Studios announced that Jamie Borthwick will no longer be part of the cast on EastEnders.

‘We do not comment on individual matters.’

Jamie, who’s portrayed Jay Brown for nearly twenty years, faced a suspension earlier this year when a video of the event became public.

According to a video from The Sun, the EastEnders actor could be heard referring to locals of Blackpool with a derogatory term for men, as they were filming in that area.

During rehearsals backstage, it is said that Wynne Evans, who was present, exclaimed “Oh my God” upon hearing a remark by someone else.

Jamie expressed regret, admitting that he wasn’t initially aware of the offensive connotation behind the phrase he utilized. Now that he has become educated about it, he feels ‘extremely ashamed’.

He said at the time: ‘I accept the karma that has come my way due to some bad choices.’

Jamie expressed his deep regret for the errors he committed, causing you pain, and mishandling the entire scenario. He wants to genuinely apologize for all of this.
