James Van Der Beek’s wife posts touching message to him amid his cancer battle
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I have come to admire and respect couples who stand by each other through thick and thin, just like James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly. Their 14-year journey together, filled with love, support, and mutual growth, serves as an inspiring example for all of us.
On Sunday, just a few hours after James Van Der Beek revealed his colorectal cancer diagnosis, his wife Kimberly posted an emotionally supportive message for him.
In a recent Instagram post by the 42-year-old ‘medical intuitive’, it was shared that Northern cardinals are affectionate birds as they bond for eternity, move about in pairs, serenade prior to building nests, and exchange seeds beak-to-beak during their courtship rituals.
Kimberly captioned her message with a rose emoji and wrote: ‘Hi baby @vanderjames!’
14 years ago, in 2009, the actress who played on Dawson’s Creek initially crossed paths with Van Der Beek (whose given name is Brook) in Israel. They commemorated their 14th wedding anniversary on August 1st.
14 years… I’ve often said it doesn’t seem like such a long time, you usually say differently, James exclaimed (with over 3 million followers on his social media platforms), back then.
Experience of last year was unlike anything we could have anticipated – maybe the preceding twelve months could have served as a precursor. Kudos for being an extraordinary companion! You’ve managed to unlock parts within me that I didn’t realize were sealed, and shown me how to embrace love beyond my perceived limits.
Previously, it seemed as if you had been leading our joint evolution, but this year, amidst my personal revolution, you’ve shown incredible resilience and miraculously kept pace. Thank you for your bravery, your power, your vulnerability, and your compassion. I’m ecstatic and thankful to be sharing life with you. Now, let’s share a hearty laugh! I adore you beyond measure. Happy anniversary. Thank you for existing in this world.
On their sprawling 36-acre Texas ranch, the Van Der Beeks marked Halloween with their six kids: 14-year-old Olivia, 12-year-old Joshua, 10-year-old Annabel, 8-year-old Emilia, 6-year-old Gwendolyn, and 3-year-old Jeremiah.
On a Sunday earlier this week, the woman from Connecticut who has blonde hair made a confirmation to People magazine: ‘I am battling colorectal cancer. I have been managing this health challenge privately with the love and support of my exceptional family. There’s a sense of hopefulness, and I feel well.’
It isn’t certain which stage of colorectal cancer James is experiencing, but on average, about one out of every twenty-three men develop this type of cancer starting in either the colon or the rectum. Approximately 65% of those individuals are reported to survive for more than five years following diagnosis.
In the upcoming two-hour special “The Real Full Monty” on Fox, scheduled for December 9, Van Der Beek will participate by removing his clothing to bring attention to colorectal cancer.
In addition to Taye Diggs, Tyler Posey, Chris Jones from the Kansas City Chiefs, and Bruno Tonioli, a judge on Dancing with the Stars, several other notable figures will join in a special production that draws inspiration from Peter Cattaneo’s 1997 film The Full Monty.
In terms of acting roles, the individual who appears as a guest star on Walker and charges $300 for Cameo appearances will next play the character of Drayton Lahey’s father in Justin Wu’s high school romance film titled Sidelined: The QB and Me. This movie is set to premiere on Tubi on November 29th.
