James Norton’s new movie confirms earlier UK screenings ahead of Netflix release
As a film enthusiast with a soft spot for British cinema, I am absolutely thrilled about James Norton’s new film, “Joy,” making its world premiere at the 68th BFI London Film Festival! With my years of experience attending movie premieres and screenings, I can confidently say that this is an event not to be missed.
The upcoming movie titled “Joy” by James Norton will debut globally at the 68th BFI London Film Festival. Moreover, there will be sneak peeks of the film in certain UK theaters before its official release.
The movie, featuring Bill Nighy along with Thomasin McKenzie from “Last Night in Soho” and “The Power of the Dog”, will premiere at London’s Southbank Centre on October 15th. Additional screenings are planned for the same day and time at nine cinema venues across the UK that are part of the Festival.
Some fortunate viewers will have the opportunity to watch the movie a full month ahead of its scheduled UK theatrical premiere on November 15, as well as before its confirmed Netflix debut on November 22.
The narrative, titled “Joy,” focuses on the groundbreaking event of the world’s first ‘lab-grown baby,’ recounting the authentic tale of Louise Joy Brown, the pioneer who became the first person born through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), and the decade-long odyssey leading up to this historic moment.
Director Ben Taylor expressed his heartfelt gratitude as he announced that his first movie, titled “Joy“, is set to make its global debut at this year’s British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival.
“This lesser-known tale of British scientific triumph deserves recognition, and there couldn’t be a better place than right here, to honor these three groundbreaking innovators who revolutionized In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).”
Kristy Matheson, head of this year’s British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival, praised the movie “Joy” as a skillfully crafted production featuring outstanding performances across the board. She also mentioned that viewers are expected to be emotionally touched by it.
Actor from “Happy Valley” is expected to attend the Southbank Centre screening during the festival, along with stars James Nighy, Sally McKenzie, and director Taylor who have also been confirmed to be present.
On Wednesday, September 4, we’ll unveil all the details about ticket information and our complete BFI London Film Festival program. Tickets for these events will become available starting from September 17.
The 68th BFI London Film Festival runs from Monday, October 9 to Friday, October 20.
The movie “Joy” will make its debut in certain UK and Irish cinemas starting from November 15. It’s set to become available worldwide on Netflix as of November 22.
