James Norton’s new ITV thriller confirms 2025 release with new look at cast
As a dedicated fan who has followed James Norton’s career since his days on BBC’s “Grantchester,” I couldn’t be more excited about his upcoming project, “Playing Nice.” The fact that it’s a psychological thriller and is slated for release in 2025 only adds to the anticipation.
It’s been announced that James Norton’s upcoming TV project is set to hit screens as early as January 2025. Additionally, fresh photos of the cast members have been revealed, along with a captivating trailer.
In the upcoming psychological thriller, “Playing Nice,” produced by ITV, Bryan Norton will be playing a significant role. He’ll be joined by other talented actors, including Niamh Algar from Channel 4’s “The Virtues,” James McArdle from “The Mare of Easttown” on HBO, and Jessica Brown Findlay, known for her work in “Downton Abbey.
Previously, some of Norton and Algar’s characters were unveiled. However, the latest images offer a glimpse into the cast in active scenes and provide a deeper insight into the two main actors. The trailer is available for viewing at the beginning of this post.
Grace Ofori-Attah, author of ITV’s “Malpractice,” has reworked a story titled “Playing Nice.” This narrative originates from the critically acclaimed book penned by JP Delaney.
The storyline will focus on two sets of parents who find themselves in a living nightmare after learning that their toddlers were unintentionally swapped at birth due to a hospital error. They now grapple with an agonizing choice: should they maintain the relationships they have nurtured and cherish with the boys, or pursue the biological offspring they were initially meant to raise?
The synopsis teases that “hidden motives are at play”, forcing the couples to test their trust of one another – with Pete (Norton) and Maddie (Algar) pushed to breaking point.
The current hit among viewers on Netflix is James Norton’s recent British production, titled “Joy“. It became popular after its debut on the streaming service.
Additionally, it’s been announced that he will feature in the forthcoming Netflix series by Steven Knight titled House of Guinness. In this production, his character is introduced as “Dubs as they come” Sean Rafferty, a role set within the narrative about the family behind the renowned brewery.
Playing Nice is coming to ITV and ITVX in 2025.
