James Norton joins all-star cast for new Guy Ritchie movie

James Norton has joined the all-star cast for Wife & Dog, the new film from director Guy Ritchie.

The renowned actor, recognized for his performances in “Happy Valley” and “The Trial of Christine Keeler,” has just signed on for the upcoming production. This high-profile figure will be joining an already impressive cast as the filmmaker delves back into the vibrant, treacherous landscape of the British nobility.

According to Screen Daily, Norton will team up with Cosmo Jarvis, Paddy Considine, and Pip Torrens in this upcoming project. These four talented individuals are expected to collaborate with the already confirmed cast members Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, and Anthony Hopkins.

Ritchie, fresh from directing movies like “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre,” “The Covenant,” and “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” will not only handle the direction but also write the script. Meanwhile, Ivan Atkinson, a long-time partner, will produce the project.

As an eager fan, I’m keeping my eyes peeled on the intriguing details of the upcoming production, “Wife & Dog.” While specifics remain a mystery, it’s been hinted that its tone might echo that of the captivating “The Gentleman,” a film turned series on Netflix. Filming for this tantalizing project began today (February 3), yet a release date is still unannounced.

The filmmaker has other exciting projects coming up, such as the heist-adventure movie titled “Fountain of Youth,” starring John Krasinski and Natalie Portman, and “In the Grey,” an action-thriller that brings together Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González.

In a recent role, Norton, who is known for his appearances in “McMafia” and “The Nevers,” starred in the ITV drama titled “Playing Nice.” This series revolved around two sets of parents whose infants were unknowingly swapped at birth.

Norton expressed his excitement about the main concept by saying, “That was the intriguing point that caught our attention,” referring to the central premise. When we initially read the book [by JP Delaney], it posed a thought-provoking question: “What if you discovered your child wasn’t biologically yours, how would you respond?

The actor, known for playing Pete Riley in the four-part drama, noted that whenever we bring up the subject of the hook, people immediately think about the concept of child swapping. This occurrence happens quite frequently, which makes it less surprising, unfortunately.

Wife & Dog has no release date.
