James Norton, 40, rules himself out of the James Bond running and thinks he’s ‘too old’ to play 007 amid rumours

James Norton has stated he no longer wants to be considered for the role of James Bond, believing he’s aged out of contention.

Ever since Daniel Craig finished his run as James Bond with the film *No Time To Die* in 2021, many actors have been suggested as potential replacements, including the 40-year-old actor mentioned here.

James has denied the rumors and doesn’t think casting directors will start favoring younger actors.

Bookmakers currently favor Henry Cavill, age 42, as the top contender, but Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 35, and Theo James, 40, are also considered strong possibilities.

Callum Turner, 35, is another actor reportedly in the running for the role, along with Harris Dickinson, Tom Holland (both 29), and Jack Lowden, 35.

Addressing the speculation, James said: ‘I think I am too old. I turned 40 this summer.’

He told The Mirror that the rumors are completely false. He said it’s like someone is deliberately trying to stir up trouble in Wolverhampton, and the constant paparazzi outside his home are based on nothing but speculation.

I was really interested to hear what James had to say when asked if he’d consider the opportunity. He admitted it was a tough call, saying it would completely change his life. He then joked that he could just walk to the pub – honestly, he seems really content with things as they are right now, and happy with his current life.

James will star in the new historical drama, House of Guinness, which will be available to stream on Netflix starting September 25th.

Anthony Boyle, known for his role in Masters Of The Air, will play the character Arthur, and Louis Partridge, who starred in Enola Holmes, will play his brother, Edward.

Emily Fairn, who you might recognize from The Responder, will play Anne, and Fionn O’Shea, known for his work in Normal People, will play her brother, Ben.

The show also features talented actors including James Norton, who has been nominated for a BAFTA award, Irish actress Dervla Kirwan, and Jack Gleeson, known for his role in Game of Thrones.

The series will chronicle the extraordinary success of the family behind the famous Irish brewery.

Despite the family’s outward success and riches, they’ve actually faced a long and heartbreaking string of bad luck.

The Browne family has experienced a heartbreaking series of tragedies, from the death of Tara Browne in a car accident to painful divorces and, most recently, the loss of 19-year-old Honor Uloth who tragically drowned in 2020.

The Guinness family has experienced so much personal tragedy that many believe they are cursed, even though the family’s wealth today is over £900 million.

Steven Knight, the creator of the series, explained that the Guinness family’s history is famous globally. Their story includes everything from immense wealth and power to hardship and tragedy, providing a complex and fascinating foundation for the show.
