James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie’s “stylish” action thriller has just been added to Prime Video

The 2008 action-thriller “Wanted”, starring James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie, is now available on Prime Video in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: In the world of Marvel’s creative genius Mark Millar and the mastermind behind Kingsman, I found myself drawn into a tale where an ordinary desk jockey like me gets tapped to join an elite league of covert killers, shrouded in secrecy.

At that location, he acquires the knack of harnessing extraordinary talents like deflecting bullets. He then employs these abilities not just for retribution against his father’s killer, but also to survive as he himself turns into a marked man.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has a critic rating of 71% based on 205 reviews. The general agreement among critics is: “Wanted” offers an enjoyable blend of style and energy, with entertaining performances by Angelina Jolie (as a skilled assassin), James McAvoy, and Morgan Freeman that help mask its excessively outrageous storyline.

The film, titled Wanted, proved to be a substantial hit at the box office, earning approximately $350 million globally from theater revenues, while its production cost was only around $75 million.

Although a sequel has been announced, it continues to linger in the limbo of production purgatory. As far back as 2020, director Timur Bekmambetov has revealed his thoughts on how a sequel could unfold.
