On Wednesday, James Haskell alarmed his supporters when he posted a video compilation showing him lying in a hospital bed, wearing a sling on his arm.
39-year-old ex-rugby union athlete recently updated his Instagram followers, confirming that he’s alive and well following a successful operation for an unspecified injury, as he continues to recuperate.
The sportsman looked in high spirits as he wore a hospital gown.
Title of the post: “Unexpected turn of events this week! Yet, here I am, still kicking. The operation went smoothly. Guess it’s time for rehabilitation now. I’ve got quite a bit of knowledge on that subject. Here we go on this new adventure!

Following the announcement made by James and Chloe Madeley in October 2023, that they were parting ways after ten years as a couple and five years of matrimony.
Chloe confessed that she and her partner, the parents of their 21-month-old daughter Bodhi, ended their relationship because they each felt it was becoming unbearably unpleasant and unhappy.
She shared with OK! Magazine that she won’t delve deeply into the reasons for our split since it wouldn’t be fair to anyone involved, and I certainly wouldn’t wish him to do the same. However, I can tell you that it was truly a difficult and painful experience.
“One cause for wanting to terminate our relationship was that we found it unbearable. So, it seems illogical to prolong the misery during a break-up.” This version aims to convey the same message in simpler and more natural language.
Initially, it proved challenging, but just as with every aspect of life, dedication and effort were required – and we certainly put in that work.
After her parents’ split, the daughter of Richard and Judy found herself struggling with a type of depression caused by her circumstances, which left her unable to respond to messages from friends or take care of herself.
She added: ‘I’ve actually never had depression before obviously it was very circumstantial so I didn’t realise when people say “I can’t” do something, you really just can’t.’
Friends might invite you over for dinner, but I was unable to go, not even able to respond to emails. Besides looking after Bodhi, I wasn’t exactly focusing on my own wellbeing.
After Chloe discussed her reality series “Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair,” which offered a peek into their family residence just prior to their separation.
In her interview on Loose Women, she mentioned: “There was a lot more going on off-camera than what we saw on the program, and it’s fascinating to see how many viewers were able to sense that.
‘We thought we had done a good job but obviously not.’
In contemplation of our parting, I mused: “I believe foundational elements, like love and respect, are crucial for the stability of a bond.
As the foundation of our relationship eroded over time, it eventually crumbled beyond repair. Now, with us no longer in a romantic relationship, we find ourselves in a much healthier place.
‘Ever since we went separate ways, our bond has evolved into a deeply respectful friendship, filled with mutual affection.’
One challenge we faced earlier was him frequently being gone due to DJing nearly every night of the week, yet currently, it suits our lifestyle since this allows me personal time, followed by his return for quality time together with Bodhi.
“I’ve never been as content as I am right now, and it seems he feels the same way. There were some truly tough periods where simply getting out of bed felt impossible, but once I established a boundary, things started looking up for me.
‘I want James to be happy, I want Bodhi to be happy and I want to be happy.’
