As a huge Superman fan, I’m really excited to hear that David Corenswet will be back as the Man of Steel! It sounds like we’re going to see a lot more of his Superman, and even better, he’ll be facing off against Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. This is all part of the first chapter of the new DC Universe, “Gods and Monsters”, and they’ve already planned another Superman movie for 2027, which is fantastic news!
Someone recently asked James Gunn on Threads if the actress playing Wonder Woman in Man of Tomorrow would be revealed in January 2026. Gunn quickly responded to deny the rumor.
DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn flatly denied a rumor that Wonder Woman would be appearing in the Man of Tomorrow movie. The rumor, which began circulating in November 2025, suggested a mysterious female hero was being cast, and details about the role – including a height and physique requirement – led fans to speculate it could be Wonder Woman.
DC Studios is developing a new Wonder Woman movie as part of the DC Universe. Ana Nogueira, who wrote the screenplay for Supergirl, is writing the script. However, they haven’t announced a release date yet because they are still looking for a director.
James Gunn’s recent response, specifically his use of “Nope,” might simply mean the timing of a rumored announcement is incorrect. This mirrors what happened with the casting of Lars Eidinger as Brainiac – Gunn only denied rumors about actors not being considered, without confirming or denying Brainiac’s involvement in the movie.
I’m so excited for the new DCU! Since Brainiac is going to be the big bad guy in Man of Tomorrow, I’m fully expecting to see a lot of other heroes get involved. But honestly, the biggest thing on my mind right now is who they’re casting as the mysterious new female hero for the 2027 movie – I can’t wait to find out!
The film Man of Tomorrow will start filming in spring 2026 and is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 9, 2027.
