James Corden’s sister, Ruth, is off to a great start to the year, hitting the running trail after showing off her significant weight loss.
Last month, Ruth, the 47-year-old actor James’s sister, surprised her fans by sharing that she’d lost nine stone thanks to the drug Ozempic.
She posted photos showing her amazing physical transformation, and explained that she’d also changed as a person.
She’s continuing her healthy lifestyle into 2026 and recently started the 75 Hard challenge. This involves giving up alcohol and junk food while working out every day for 75 consecutive days.
Okay, so I’ve been following her for a while now, and honestly, she’s just amazing. I saw she posted about her New Year’s Day run, and it’s like, of course she started the year strong! She’s totally crushing it with everything she does – her podcast and her job – and seeing that run just proved it. She’s off to an incredible start, seriously!
Ruth, 43, filmed herself preparing for a run, sharing that the ’75 Hard’ challenge was still on her mind and she almost skipped it.

The scene then showed her getting ready with a quick walk, accompanied by the on-screen message: ‘But I put on my shoes and did it.’
Red-faced after the workout, Ruth told her followers: ‘Never regret the run.’
She shared on Instagram that she was doing her second workout of the day as part of the 75 Hard challenge.
‘Who even am I? What counts as showing up for you right now?’
People showered Ruth with encouragement and positive feedback, impressed by her drive. One follower wrote, ‘Great job, Ruth! Excited to see what you accomplish in 2026.’
‘Well done!!! I went for a run today – I’m not sure I’ll be able to walk tomorrow’;
I felt fantastic after my run today – I’m really happy I pushed myself to do it. The biggest challenge is always just getting started.
Ruth recently shared that before losing weight, she felt pressured to be extremely outgoing and attention-grabbing – ‘dazzling, loud, magnetic, unforgettable’ – just to cope with being perceived as ‘the fat person’ in any space. It was a painful realization for her.

She explained honestly that the woman on the left developed a habit of entering rooms with confidence and making a strong impression. She learned this because being overweight had taught her that if she didn’t assert herself and command attention, she would be overlooked or marginalized.
She kept up the act, smiling and being pleasant, repeatedly saying she was okay. But underneath it all, she was completely drained, putting on a show simply to feel secure.
Ruth explained that she’s become more comfortable and authentic over time, describing herself as calmer, more subdued, and truer to who she is – as shown in the picture with her gold top and pants.
She described the girl entering the room as completely herself. She felt this honesty was the most courageous thing she’d ever experienced – both frightening because it was so open, and liberating because it felt so unburdening.
Ruth, who lives in Buckinghamshire with her husband Matthew, has been taking Ozempic for the past year under the guidance of Dr. Sophia Khalique, a Harley Street doctor. She believes the medication, which reduces appetite, has helped her overcome a lifelong pattern of eating when she’s feeling emotional.
Oh my gosh, you guys, she was SO brave on that podcast! She revealed she’s lost like, nine stone! It’s amazing, but also heartbreaking because she talked about how hard it’s been trying for a baby with Matthew. She was so open about everything – years of really tough stuff, mental health issues, and even past struggles with drugs… it all really impacted their marriage, and she just laid it all out there. I’m so proud of her for being so honest!

She explained that she’s been going to the gym and following a very restricted diet. As a result, she’s lost almost nine stone, which has dramatically improved her life. She now feels a sense of peace she never imagined possible.
She explained that Matthew and she have faced significant challenges in their marriage, including struggles with getting pregnant, difficult mental health issues, and substance abuse. She described their journey as a very difficult and emotional one.
‘It’s been torturous at times. There’s been lots and lots of grief and trauma and pain for us.
It’s amazing that we’ve not only stayed together, but that we still genuinely care for and love each other. I’m really proud of everything we’ve overcome together.
James has shared that he previously tried a weight loss injection, but it didn’t work as well for him as it has for others.
He shared that Ozempic didn’t work for him, and he came to understand his struggles with eating stemmed from his emotions, not actual hunger. He explained he was eating in response to his feelings.
