James Corden’s big comeback: Comedian is embraced by the nation once more as Gavin And Stacey final is a hit with viewers after string of scandals
As a long-time observer of the entertainment industry, I must say that James Corden’s journey has been a rollercoaster ride filled with both highs and lows. On one hand, he has achieved immense success, particularly with his work on Gavin and Stacey and The Late Late Show. However, it seems that fame has taken a toll on him, leading to some questionable behavior.
It seems that James Corden is back in the good graces of the country, as the final episode of Gavin and Stacey has been extremely popular among viewers.
In simpler terms, the final installment of the television series, broadcast five years following its latest Christmas special, garnered an impressive 12.5 million viewers on BBC.
The show was originally conceived by James and his co-star, Ruth Jones. They wrote the final episode in secret earlier this year.
The comedian experienced a shift in his luck, as rumors had been circulating for some time about his lack of popularity within the UK entertainment world.
James returned to Great Britain at the start of this year after spending eight years in America, where he hosted The Late Show with James Corden on CBS.
No official announcements about upcoming projects have been made, with the exception of my involvement as the voice actor for a character in the upcoming summer animation of The Smurfs Movie.
According to reports, he’s hesitant to repeat his success from the U.S. and host a talk show here as it’s perceived as too demanding or time-consuming.
Without the exciting Gavin and Stacey finale, his much-anticipated return to the spotlight in Britain might have turned out rather lackluster, according to sources.
As reported by The Mail On Sunday, reviving the series that initially launched his career seemed like one of the few options for him, as it was almost certain to be successful and would undoubtedly re-establish his prominence in the spotlight.
Word on the street was that there was high anticipation for James receiving a substantial contract offer. However, he expressed his disinterest in the rigorous routine of hosting a nightly program, given its demanding nature, yet whispers of significant ventures persisted.
The only thing that came to fruition was a brief, but impactful, appearance on a London stage, leaving the television world puzzled.
It’s intriguing to ponder why. Despite James adoring the spotlight and craving attention, this situation didn’t provide him with that attention.

The angry proprietor declared that he had effectively terminated the privileges of the well-known individual – implying they were no longer welcome – and alleged that Corden discovered a hair in his main meal during their visit in June. Subsequently, he requested complimentary beverages to rectify the error.
On October 9th, McNally asserted that Corden was enjoying a meal with his spouse, Julia Carey, at the restaurant during brunch hours.
He said that James asked for a table outside, and Julia ordered an egg yolk omelet with a salad.
The pair informed the waiter that there was a slight contamination of egg white within the egg yolk and requested the meal be returned instead.
McNally noted: ‘The kitchen prepared the dish, yet unfortunately served it with French fries rather than a salad.’
In that moment, I found myself expressing my frustration in a rather animated way towards the server: “It seems you’re having trouble performing your duties! It seems you’re having trouble performing your duties! Perhaps it’s time for me to step into the kitchen and whip up an omelette instead!
Later, James phoned the restaurant manager and offered a heartfelt apology, and he was granted another opportunity.
The comedian is well known for his provocative and at times strange behavior.

Last September, during the promotion of his movie “Cinderella,” he chose an unusual approach by dressing up as a mouse and dancing on a street, drawing attention from puzzled motorists with suggestive movements.
James was joined on set by Camila Cabello, who took the main part, and Billy Porter, portraying the character named Fab G.

During an interview with The New Yorker in 2020, James openly acknowledged that the immense popularity of the series had caused him to develop an inflated sense of self-importance.
He stated: I found myself acting spoiled, yet I don’t truly believe I am that way. That initial rush of popularity is incredibly alluring. I suspect it’s even more captivating if you weren’t born into it.
James mentioned that his parents, Margaret and Malcolm, often offered prayers for him, and even the actor Rob Brydon, famously known for his role as Uncle Bryn in Gavin & Stacey, stepped in to help the situation.
