James Corden and Ruth Jones reunite at the London Palladium as comedy collaborators host special event When Gavin Met Stacey And Everything In Between

James Corden and Ruth Jones seemed very happy and excited to see each other again at a Gavin & Stacey event in London on Monday.

The 47-year-old actor and 58-year-old actress enjoyed a night of laughter at a book event for ‘When Gavin Met Stacey And Everything In Between‘ held at the Palladium.

Jame was wearing a black T-shirt with a grey, black, and yellow patterned shirt over it.

Ruth looked stylish and comfortable in a simple, beige knit dress with a classic polo neck.

Singer-songwriter Stephen Fretwell joined the conversation and later performed with his guitar.

The pair were seen out together shortly after reports surfaced that they’d agreed to a multi-million dollar deal for a continuation of Gavin & Stacey.

The actors who famously played Smithy and Nessa in the popular BBC comedy are reportedly creating new content, possibly for another special, after appearing together again in the Christmas finale.

The new project will now stream on AppleTV+ instead of the BBC, following a new agreement.

Someone involved with the show shared that they plan to film 10 episodes featuring a completely British cast, and both Corden and Jones will be appearing in them.

Shooting will begin next year, with the episodes not set to land until 2027. 

The upcoming show won’t include the beloved characters from Gavin & Stacey.

Gavin and Stacey were played by Mathew Horne and Joanna Page. Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb portrayed Gavin’s parents, Pam and Mick, and Rob Brydon was Uncle Bryn. Melanie Walters played Gwen West, Stacey’s mother, who was a widow.

According to a source at The Sun, there’s some good news for people in Britain after a difficult year: James and Ruth are working together on a new project.

‘As you might expect, it is uplifting, gentle and very funny. 

They aimed to create a show with genuine emotion and appeal, something the whole family could enjoy and talk about together.

The script quickly generated a lot of excitement, and several studios competed fiercely to produce the film.

‘But James already had an excellent relationship with AppleTV+.’

According to a source, they haven’t started choosing actors yet, but the new show will be different in style and content from Gavin & Stacey.

Daily Mail approached representatives for James and Ruth for comment at the time.

Last Christmas, the show Gavin & Stacey ended with a happy moment for Nessa and Smithy, who finally got together and got married.

The show concluded with a touching final scene. The sitcom, which first premiered in 2007 and last aired in 2019, ended with Nessa proposing to Smithy, leaving viewers on a cliffhanger.

In a recent documentary reflecting on the show, James Corden explained the reasons behind the decision to end Gavin & Stacey.

He said it felt like the characters were destined to end up together ever since the first Christmas special, specifically the moment Dave proposed and Smithy told him not to go through with it.

In the final scene, he explains that the imperfections reflect the characters themselves, saying, “It’s messy and imperfect because *we* are messy and imperfect.”

Last month, Mathew Horne became visibly upset when he shared the news that someone working on the production had unexpectedly died.

The actor was giving an interview on stage as part of his ‘In Conversation With…’ event in Taunton, Somerset.

You know, I was chatting with Mathew recently, and he shared something really sweet. He told me the whole cast still keeps in touch through a WhatsApp group! He actually got a little emotional talking about it, which just shows how close they all became during filming. It’s lovely to see those bonds lasting, isn’t it? It really highlights the power of shared experiences and how friendships can form in the most unexpected places.

I apologize, I lost my train of thought for a moment. We recently had a contestant named Rob on the final show – he was in his early 40s – and I just learned through a group message that he sadly passed away. That’s what was on my mind.

It’s incredibly upsetting. I was deeply affected by the loss of Rob, who was a wonderful person. It’s especially heartbreaking that he’s left behind a young four-year-old child.

The Daily Mail reported that the crew member was well-known and liked around Barry Island, and had mentioned experiencing chest pain a few weeks before he died.
