This new actor suggests the producers might be looking for someone completely new to the role of 007.

Cosmo Jarvis, known for his roles in shows like Warfare, Shōgun, and Peaky Blinders, was unexpectedly mentioned as a potential candidate on Friday. However, his representative has confirmed to Variety that he is not being considered for the role and is not auditioning.

Tom Francis, a 26-year-old British actor, is reportedly being considered for the role of James Bond. According to Variety, he’s auditioned for the part, though Amazon MGM Studios and Francis’s team haven’t confirmed the news. He’s said to be one of several actors being evaluated by casting director Nina Gold as part of the search for the next 007.

Who is Tom Francis?

Tom Francis is best known for his work in theatre, particularly the 2023 West End production of Sunset Boulevard. He starred as Joe Gillis alongside Nicole Scherzinger, and both actors received Olivier Awards for their performances – Francis winning Best Actor in a Musical and Scherzinger winning Best Actress in a Musical.

The stage production of Sunset Boulevard was a big success, winning seven Olivier Awards out of eleven nominations. Both Francis and Scherzinger returned to their roles when the show moved to Broadway. On Broadway, Francis was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical, but Darren Criss ultimately won the award.
