James Argent Desperate to Contact Ex Nicoline After Violent Spain Incident

According to reports, James Argent is said to be eager for a conversation with his former girlfriend, Nicoline Arthursson, following charges of domestic violence against him.

Previously on TOWIE, the 37-year-old celebrity was given a six-month suspended jail term and a two-year ban from approaching Nicoline, aged 32, following an incident where he pushed her down the stairs during a heated argument in Spain this month.

Just prior to the argument, it was reported that the couple seemed particularly content, a fact which left Nicoline utterly astonished by the sudden outburst.

After the altercation, James is allegedly wanting to speak to his ex despite the risk of jail.

According to a source, he’s deeply distressed, longing for solitude yet yearning to communicate with Nicoline.

TopMob has contacted James’ representatives for comment. 

After being accused of domestic violence, James finally spoke up to clarify rumors suggesting a potential relapse.

Some spectators are pondering if James’s actions might be connected to a resurgence of his past issues with substance abuse – drugs and alcohol – that required multiple periods of treatment in rehabilitation centers, a phase he was particularly known for during his reality show days.

To clarify for TopMob alone, James assured us that he remains sober and the recent police encounter had nothing to do with any relapse.

As a steadfast adherent, I can affirm that I’ve managed to maintain my sobriety for an impressive span of three years and four months now. The recent events have left me utterly shattered.

On Tuesday evening, it came to light that James had shoved his nine-month girlfriend down some stairs outside her apartment on the Costa del Sol. This incident led to him acknowledging a charge related to domestic violence.

Over time, James has grappled with both weight problems and cocaine dependency. He’s endured two life-threatening drug overdoses in the past, as he fought against his inner struggles.

However, the celebrity from Essex has been abstaining from alcohol and drugs since 2022, choosing instead to focus on recovery, adopting a wholesome lifestyle, and keeping a balanced weight following gastric band surgery.

In previous discussions, he’s openly addressed battles with the perils of stardom, such as feelings of isolation, embarrassment due to his eating disorder, and the sudden exposure following his appearance on the reality show TOWIE.

In an interview with OK Magazine during 2020, James opened up about his journey into drug addiction. He explained that it began when he started frequenting nightclubs at the age of 18.

It wasn’t until I began appearing at nightclubs across the country multiple nights a week due to my involvement in TOWIE that I became increasingly aware of some friends dabbling in drugs. However, it wasn’t until then that my own experimentation with drugs started to escalate, as I found myself drinking more and more often.

Approximately a year and a half into my time on TOWIE, those closest to me understood that I was struggling with an issue and battling an addiction.

Additionally, he opened up about the impact his past addictions had on his romantic relationships, mentioning some strains even with an ex-girlfriend and a previous co-star from TOWIE, Lydia Bright.

In simpler terms, James explained that when Lydia ended their relationship, he was taken aback and felt intense pain due to the heartache. To cope with these emotions and the discomfort of his appearance on TV, he turned to heavy drug use.

Nine months prior, the singer was dating model Nicoline when an unfortunate, violent event took place during the extended weekend of May, which is traditionally celebrated as a holiday.

On Wednesday, it was first seen that Nicoline made a public appearance since charges of domestic violence were brought against James.

She was spotted donning a white t-shirt and sunglasses, with her gaze fixed on her phone only a few hours following the announcement of James’s detainment.

The incident occurred following an account from a bystander who informed TopMob that James was overheard shouting, and subsequently pushed the ex-Miss Sweden out of her Spanish apartment, resulting in her tumble down some stairs.

In simpler terms, James admitted to committing acts of domestic violence and was given a two-year court order that prohibits him from contacting Nicoline. If he violates this order by reaching out to her, he will be imprisoned. Witnesses reported that Nicoline appeared to have sustained serious injuries after the assault.

An unidentified witness shared their account of overhearing a disturbing argument at the Costa del Sol residence, which was jointly owned by James and Nicoline, and they have since remembered observing the heated altercation.

They mentioned that they and their dogs were strolling along, when all of a sudden, they overheard a man shouting aggressively. This individual appeared to be tossing items off the balcony of a neighboring building. The loud yells made them feel afraid.

Afterwards, the house door swung open, and a man tossed a woman outside who tumbled down the stairs, making her yell in pain. We were shocked by the scene unfolding before us. She appeared to be gravely injured and called out for assistance.

It’s understood that James ‘continued to throw things’ as Nicoline ‘lay injured’ on the steps.

The eyewitness went on to say: ‘Things got tense rapidly, and we felt frightened and uncertain about our next steps. A different woman stepped in to help the wounded woman, who lay motionless at the base of the stairs. Just then, the man forcefully closed the door and ran away.’

In just a few seconds, people who cared quickly gathered around the woman to offer aid, and the police arrived promptly.

The witness said Nicoline ‘appeared to be physically and emotionally devastated.’

They expressed deep astonishment, and then shared that they learned later on that Nicoline’s mother had come and taken her to the hospital.

This woman truly merits fairness; her heartbreak is beyond comprehensible. I’ve never witnessed anyone so deeply affected emotionally as she appeared to be.

‘We saw something extremely violent and cruel, which I can only describe as an act of abuse… There were numerous people present who offered assistance to Nicoline throughout that unfortunate event.’

Following a fall down two stairs, Artursson let out distressing cries that notified nearby residents about the situation. These neighbors subsequently contacted the authorities. It appears she required medical attention at a hospital.

After the event at La Cala de Mijas, Argent was promptly apprehended and detained within police custody for a number of hours. Subsequently, he was escorted to a courthouse in Fuengirola for a hearing.

At the court hearing, he acknowledged a charge related to domestic violence. A source shared with The Sun that their nine-month romance has ended. As a result, he received a two-year restraining order that keeps him at least 250 meters away from Artursson.

In court, Artursson listened as Argent confessed to the charge for which he received a six-month suspended sentence. Additionally, Argent was ordered to undergo a resocialization program focusing on gender violence.

Artursson has remained in Spain, while Argent is believed to have flown back to Essex.

On Wednesday, following her arrest, the model was observed for the first time since then, dressed casually in workout attire while typing intently on her mobile device.

In the aftermath of the incident involving her ex-partner Argent, she was accompanied by her mother, Pernille Artursson, who has stood by her during this time.

Artursson covered her face with a pair of large sunglasses during their outing.

Currently, Argent expressed regret to The Sun, stating that he had a disagreement with Nicoline and attempted to resolve it by trying to put an end to the argument.

‘James admitted to shoving Nicoline, causing her to fall. Despite this, he expresses regret for the incident and maintains that he did not intend to hurt her in any way.’
