James Argent Breaks Silence After Suspended Jail Sentence for Domestic Violence

James Argent has finally spoken up following the charges of domestic violence against him, after an incident where he forcefully pushed his girlfriend outside their residence.

Previously known TOWIE celebrity, aged 37, received a six-month suspended jail term and was ordered to maintain a two-year distance from his ex-girlfriend, Nicoline Artursson, who is 32 years old, following an aggressive altercation between the two during a heated argument in Spain. The incident involved him physically handling the beauty queen.

The event sparked speculation among fans about whether he had relapsed into his previous excessive substance use – involving drugs and alcohol, which led him back to rehabilitation, a familiar place for the popular reality star.

For the initial conversation with TopMob following his arrest, Arg clarified that he had not resumed drinking or fallen off the wagon.

The star said: ‘I haven’t relapsed. I am still three years and four months clean and sober.

‘I am devastated by what’s happened.’     

On Wednesday, Nicoline made her initial public appearance since charges of domestic violence were brought against James.

According to a bystander who spoke with TopMob, there was a commotion involving Argent as he allegedly shouted and shoved Artursson out of a doorway. This violent action reportedly made Artursson trip on some steps, and subsequently, objects were hurled at her by him.

The television personality admitted guilt for instances of domestic violence and was given a two-year prohibition order, which means he faces imprisonment should he reach out to Artursson. Witnesses reported that Artursson appeared to be in a grave state of injury following the alleged incident.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I chanced upon an unsettling incident at a shared residence on Costa del Sol. Anonymous to the public eye, I overheard a tumultuous disturbance originating from this very property, co-inhabited by Argent and Artursson, Swede. Reminiscing on the event, I vividly recall the intense altercation that transpired, which I can only describe as brutally heated.

According to the witness, they were taking their dogs for a walk when they unexpectedly heard a man shouting angrily. They noticed this individual tossing items off the balcony of a nearby building. The loud shouts made them feel scared.

Next, the front door of the residence swung open, and a man ejected a woman who tumbled down the stairs, resulting in a loud cry from her. Our shock was palpable as we watched this unfold. Clearly injured, she called out for assistance.

According to the witness, it seemed like Argent was still hurling objects as Artursson lay wounded on the stairs.

In simpler terms, The problem worsened rapidly, causing us great fear and confusion about what action to take. A different woman stepped in to help the wounded woman who was lying motionless at the bottom of the stairs. At that instant, a man forcefully closed the door and ran away.

In just a flash, kind-hearted onlookers rushed over to assist the woman, and the authorities quickly arrived at the scene.

The witness said Artursson ‘appeared to be physically and emotionally devastated’.

They were completely stunned, and then learned that Artursson’s mother had come and taken her to the hospital instead.

This woman truly requires fairness; her spirit was shattered beyond recognition. It’s seldom that we come across someone who suffered emotional trauma to such an extent as she did.

We saw a harsh, violent act being perpetrated… There were numerous people who acted as witnesses and even provided assistance to Artursson during that unfortunate event.

They mentioned that the incident is expected to have severely impacted Artursson’s life for a prolonged period, and they urge everyone to lend their support during this unfortunate instance of mistreatment.

Following a fall down two steps, Arthursson’s cries for help notified neighbors about the situation, who subsequently contacted the police. It appears she required medical attention at the hospital.

Following the event at La Cala de Mijas, Argent was apprehended promptly and held in custody for some time before being brought before a court in Fuengirola.

In the court proceedings, I confessed to a charge related to domestic violence. An informant shared with The Sun that our nine-month relationship has come to an end. Subsequently, I was given a two-year restraining order, which forbids me from approaching Artursson within a radius of 250 meters.

Artursson attended court as Argent admitted the charge, receiving a six-month suspended sentence. Additionally, Argent was instructed to take part in a rehabilitation program focused on gender violence.

Artursson has remained in Spain, while Argent is believed to have flown back to Essex.

Her mother, Pernille Artursson, also came along, having stood by her side since the event involving her former partner Argent.

Currently discussing Argent, a friend informed The Sun that he is ‘deeply regretful.’ He explained, ‘He admitted having an argument with Nicoline and attempted to resolve it.’

James admitted to shoving Nicoline, causing her to stumble. He expresses regret over the incident, but maintains that he did not intend to cause any injury.

A few days prior to their disagreement, the couple presented a notably different scene. On May 2, Argent could be spotted basking in joy on the beach, accompanied by Artursson.

Reports suggested that, approximately nine months following their chance encounter in a supermarket, there were indications he intended to deepen his relationship with the ex-Miss Sweden.

The television personality appeared to be more content than ever before, according to reports, as he successfully navigated through past difficulties. Insiders claimed just recently that the fashion model appreciates him genuinely for his unique qualities.

A source shared with OK! Magazine recently that he is completely infatuated, and it seems he’s planning to propose soon, aiming to build their future together.

He is entirely certain that she is the woman he wishes to spend the remainder of his life with. They are clearly soulmates; there’s no room for debate on this matter.

Currently, Argent is under notice that any attempt to communicate with Artursson within the upcoming two years could result in his imprisonment.

Instead of going to prison, he managed to avoid it by reaching a plea bargain agreement with the prosecutors prior to his May 5 trial in the Court of Violence Against Women in Fuengirola.

Despite no comprehensive details being provided by the police and court authorities regarding the alleged physical assault on Argent, it is known that officers from the Mijas Town Hall’s local police force detained him on May 5th, as confirmed by the Spanish Civil Guard who escorted Argent to court under custody.

The High Court of Justice in Andalusia upheld the previously suspended prison term and a two-year ban on contact, as authorities cautioned that defying the stringent conditions Argent agreed to comply with within his plea bargain could result in his incarceration.

It’s believed that he chose to acknowledge his guilt following information that a more severe charge, potentially resulting in a five-year prison term, could be imposed if he opted for a trial instead, which was planned to be held publicly at a later time.

According to Andalusia’s High Court of Justice, the case was handled by the Court of Violence Against Women in Fuengirola. On May 5, there was a plea deal reached, and a hearing was held on the same day.

In trials like these, it’s typically the prosecutor who proposes a guilty verdict following discussions with the defense. This indicates that the defendant accepts the facts presented and agrees to the imposed penalty.

The verdict has been officially upheld, meaning it stands firm. It includes a jail term of six months due to the perpetration of an act of abuse within the context of gender-based violence. Additionally, it establishes a restriction against any contact or communication with the victim for a duration of two years.

‘The convicted person will not enter prison as he had no criminal record in Spain.

As a result, the sentence will be temporarily halted, but if for the next two years he refrains from contacting or interacting with the victim, and undergoes a resocialization program focused on gender violence, then the sentence can be served.

‘The suspension would be revoked if it fails to comply with the measures imposed.

The sentence is intended for a criminal court, where it will be their duty to enforce it and ensure adherence to any underlying instructions or guidelines.

In Spain, individuals serving a prison sentence of up to two years usually have that sentence suspended if it’s their first offense. However, the details on whether Argentina has been mandated to compensate his victim are unclear.
