JAH JAH Reveals SS26 Collection and adidas Megaride S2 at Paris Fashion Week
Summary
- JAH JAH debuted its SS26 collection at Paris Fashion Week rooted in Rastafarian and Pan-African identity
- The brand unveiled its adidas Originals Megaride S2 collaboration in an Ethiopian-inspired gradient colorway
- The collection blends West African tailoring, Jamaican crochet and bold textures into culturally rich, expressive silhouettes
More recently, JAH JAH presented their Spring/Summer 2026 collection during Paris Fashion Week. This brand initially started out in Paris as an Afro-vegan dining and cultural hub. It continues to grow its mission, rooted in Rastafarian and Pan-African philosophies, into the realm of fashion. The designs function as a potent visual tool for preserving memories and narrating cultural tales.
One striking instance during the fashion show was unveiling JAH JAH’s future partnership with adidas Originals: the Megaride S2 sneaker, planned for launch in Spring 2026. This shoe boasts a gradient base of yellow, green, and red – symbolizing the Ethiopian flag – embellished with a black grid-like pattern. The design aims to be both eye-catching and essential, providing the perfect finishing touch to any ensemble.
Entitled “A Silent March,” this collection is brought to you by self-taught fashion designer Daquisiline Gomis. She refers to the designs as part of an “insurrectional aesthetic” – a style where shapes take on the role of manifestos, and clothes function as flags. Drawing inspiration from West African tailored suits, this collection transforms them into “noble armor,” featuring robust, well-structured tailoring that highlights the beauty of the human form. Additionally, some looks feature flowing shapes, intricate patterns, and textures that provide both visual and tactile depth.
As a gamer with deep roots in Jamaica, I’ve taken inspiration from Rastafarian prophets and cultural icons to weave stories of our diaspora into my designs. I’ve reimagined traditional Jamaican crochet patterns, turning them into sleek, sophisticated craftsmanship that adds a unique touch to each garment. The bold patchwork and vivid color palettes I use reflect the rich textures of both refinement and ruggedness in our culture. Green, yellow, and red hues, symbolic of home, run throughout my collection as a tribute to our heritage. Each piece is a fusion of cultural legacy and artistic expression.
