Jaden Smith shows off his quirky sense of style in red American football-inspired shoulder pads at Christian Louboutin’s Paris Fashion Week show

On Thursday, Jaden Smith displayed his signature, unconventional fashion sense while attending the Christian Louboutin show at Paris Fashion Week.

The rapper, 27, ensured eyes were on him as he sat front row next to the luxury fashion designer.

Jaden, the brand’s newly appointed men’s creative director, stood out wearing a completely red outfit. He immediately drew everyone’s eye with his bold choice. It was a statement look that reflected his new role and sense of style.

He made a statement with shoulder pads reminiscent of American football, worn over a basic red outfit of a top and trousers.

You know, I’ve been noticing Jaden Smith’s style lately, and it’s always so unique! I recently saw him rocking a look that really stood out – he paired his outfit with some bold red shoes, a baseball cap worn to the side, and even fingerless mittens. It’s a really cool, unexpected combination, and it just goes to show you can make anything work if you own it!

He finished his look with silver jewellery from the designers and painted half his face red.

I was so thrilled to see Jaden at the fashion event in Paris! He really seemed to be in great spirits, and was totally posing up a storm for the cameras. It was amazing to witness!

It comes just a month after the star landed an impressive job with the designer fashion label.

Jaden will be in charge of designing four collections each year, and his initial collection will be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week in January.

However, the news received strong disapproval from certain people on social media, with many arguing that Jaden was given the chance solely due to his family’s celebrity status.

One fashion designer expressed frustration on TikTok, saying, “It’s like spending over 15 years building a career in fashion design, and then Jaden Smith comes along and seems to take your place…”

‘Nepotism in fashion is killing creativity and actual creatives, I HATE IT,’ one user replied.

‘Nepotism is our societal downfall,’ agreed someone else.

Another person added, ‘That’s unfair and messed up.’

‘Unfortunately the industry is full of nepo babies,’ read a fourth comment.

One person commented, ‘I find it unbelievable how many people are defending someone who benefited from nepotism-their sole achievement being the son of Will Smith.’

It doesn’t matter how well you perform at your job or how skilled you are-those things primarily benefit those who need to work for a living. However, someone with family connections-a nepo baby-will often get the job instead, regardless of your qualifications. It’s a frustrating reality.

“This industry is notoriously difficult to get into, and it often feels like most opportunities – around 90 percent – are given to the children of celebrities or those who are already well-known, rather than to genuinely talented individuals,” another person commented.

‘Moves like this are beyond disrespectful to the people who dedicate their lives to the craft.’

Others, however, defended Jaden and brought up his past experience in the fashion industry.

‘I’m not saying nepotism isn’t a problem, but people who benefit from nepotism can also be talented,’ one said.

Someone noted that Jaden Smith likely had a big impact on today’s streetwear scene. They added, ‘He was ahead of the curve back in 2017, but people didn’t appreciate his style at the time.’

Someone else questioned, ‘He’s worked in fashion for ten years, served as a creative director, been an ambassador for LV, and has met Christian personally on several occasions. He supports him, so what’s the problem?’

One person commented, “Of course, nepotism isn’t ideal, but even though I don’t personally like Jaden, it’s clear he’s been involved in fashion and has experience managing brands before.”

‘He definitely has the qualifications. It’s not like they picked a random talentless person.’

Jaden began his career as an actor, getting his first part at the age of eight in the 2006 movie The Pursuit of Happyness, where he played the son of the character played by his real-life father.

Over the years, he appeared in several popular films and series, including The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Karate Kid, After Earth, Netflix’s The Get Down, and Life in a Year, to name a few.

Oh my gosh, and it’s not *just* acting! He’s a musician too! He’s actually released three albums – can you believe it?! – and he’s even opened for some of my *absolute* favorites on tour! I’m talking Fall Out Boy, Post Malone, Tyler, the Creator, even Justin Bieber and Kid Cudi! Seriously, is there anything this man *can’t* do? I was so jealous of everyone who got to see him on those tours!

For years, this actor and musician has been gaining attention in the fashion world with their daring and eye-catching style choices on the red carpet.

He launched a successful streetwear brand with his sister, Willow Smith, called MSFTSrep in 2012.

He also made headlines for posing in a womenswear campaign for Louis Vuitton in a skirt in 2016.

‘Joining forces with Christian feels very organic, as we share a similar perspective on the world,’ Jaden explained in a statement after announcing his move to Paris and his new role with Christian Louboutin.

We have a mutual understanding and appreciation for artistic liberty, and I believe that’s the key to our success. My goal is to build upon the existing narrative, paying tribute to what came before while also bringing my own vision to the evolution of the story.

For me, this isn’t just a job title, it’s a truly creative home. Christian has given me the space to really explore my potential, to learn and grow, and to create without limits. It’s inspiring to see what he’s built through dedication and a genuine love for what he does, and I’m committed to continuing his legacy of hard work and joy. I feel a real responsibility to carry that forward and build upon his foundation.
