Jade Thirlwall: Turning 30 & Finding Myself Through Music

Jade Thirlwall expressed relief, stating that a burden was lifted from her when she reached thirty years old. The singer shared insights about how creating her latest album assisted her in rediscovering herself.

Previously a member of Little Mix, the 32-year-old winner of this year’s BRIT Award for Best Pop Act, is presently engrossed in creating her first solo studio album.

In a recent chat with Puss Puss Magazine, Jade shared that her new album represents a collection of thoughts she’s been eager to express for quite some time.

My intention with this album was to create a soundscape that symbolizes my journey of self-discovery, and I believe listeners can sense that musically.

I thought it would be authentic to share that journey with the fans since creating this album involved discovering my unique musical identity.

She confessed that when she turned thirty, she felt as though a burden had been lifted from her shoulders, causing her to worry less about other people’s opinions.

It’s fortunate since being alone implies I’ll receive increased attention. Everything seems under a microscope now.

I find it’s still assumed I retain the appearance of the 20-year-old woman I once was, yet it’s clear that my body has undergone changes over time.

I can hardly wait for my album to be released! This year, I’ll have the opportunity to perform my own concerts and attend several upcoming festivals. It’s been a while since I’ve been on stage, and I’m eager to get back out there. Once the album is out, I can’t wait to start writing new material again.

On the photo shoot, Jade appeared stunning, showcasing her long, slender legs in a nude cardigan coordinated with shorts and high heels that perfectly matched.

Later on, she donned a flowing brown silk maxi dress and let her long, dark hair cascade loosely in soft curls while striking various poses.

It comes just after Jade released her new track, FUFN (F**k You For Now) last month.

The singer, who took home her first award as a solo artist, dropped her latest dramatic pop song.

Composed by Jade along with music artist RAYE, Dave Hamelin, and co-produced by Lostboy, the song features her vocals saying, “I won’t let you tell me to quiet down.

The song was teased during the new Fendi campaign for their Mamma Baguette bag, which she stars in.

Jade explained that FUFN represents a heated exchange of words, understanding it won’t be the final chapter, yet still experiencing intense emotions during the argument.

‘It’s the channeling of female rage into a bada** big pop banger.’

The debut solo single, “Angel Of My Dreams,” by the artist, has achieved remarkable commercial popularity and amassed more than 100 million plays so far.

Last year, a British artist’s song debuted on the UK Official Singles Chart at the third-highest position among new entries, landing at number 7.

Since then Jade has released three more tracks, Midnight Cowboy. Fantasy, and IT Girl.

Fans were overjoyed when, during the 2025 BRIT Awards ceremony held at London’s O2 Arena, Jade earned her first BRIT Award as a solo artist, marking a significant milestone in her career.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the ex-member of Little Mix was honored with the Best Pop Act award. What made her victory even more captivating was her unconventional acceptance speech that swiftly became a viral sensation. Instead of smoothly ascending the stage, she had a bit of a scuffle climbing the stairs, and to add to the intrigue, she concealed her speech in the front of her dress.

The Sugababes members, Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhán Donaghy, handed out the award, and it was Jade who emerged victorious against contenders like Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Lola Young, and Myles Smith.

Upon hearing her name called, the singer reacted with surprise and hurried towards the stage, yet found her progress impeded due to the bulky train and full skirt of her denim wedding gown.

On the stage, she found it difficult to ascend the steps due to some obstacle, and ultimately required assistance from the Sugababes when she got stuck.

In the course of her acceptance speech, Jade reached inside her dress and extracted a folded note from between her neckline.

She shared: “Wow! This is my inaugural BRIT Award as a solo act! I can’t shed tears because I need to perform later, yet I jotted down a few words on a note in case I won. I might be embarrassed admitting it, but I knew I’d forget people amidst all the excitement. I’m quite flustered.

Later on, she expressed gratitude towards her supporters and dear ones, stating, “I must acknowledge my fans, as it is their support that led me to this victory.

I truly value your backing and the enthusiasm you’ve shown in encouraging others to vote for me. Your support means a lot to me.

I’d like to express my gratitude to my outstanding team, as it truly takes a committed group of individuals, much like a dedicated village, to create a successful pop act.

I’m grateful to my partner Jordan, parents, siblings, and entire family and friends for their unwavering faith in me throughout our journey together.

Thank you for helping me believe that becoming a pop star was a genuine possibility since I was just a young girl.

As I reflect on my journey, I can’t help but acknowledge the profound impact my dear friends, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, have had on shaping my life. They’ve been more than bandmates; they’ve been sisters, confidantes, and partners in creating unforgettable memories. Their presence has transformed me in ways I could never have imagined.

Overwhelmed with emotion, she exclaimed heartily: “At last, my dear Little Mix companions, I adore you immensely! This honor wouldn’t be mine without their support. They transformed my life, and I owe them such a debt of gratitude.
