Jade Thirlwall reveals the Gallagher brothers were the unlikely inspiration behind her Glastonbury look – after her fiery feud with Noel over the Oasis star rubbishing Little Mix’s talents
In a recent social media post, Jade Thirlwall disclosed that the Gallagher brothers served as inspiration for her appearance at Glastonbury, looking back on the event on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old performer donned a coordinated green parka outfit while performing her popular songs onstage in Somerset, showcasing her powerful vocals.
Sharing a post following the bustling weekend, one image showcased the inspiration behind her style, featuring pictures of the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam from Oasis, famously recognized for their parka ensembles.
Four years have passed since the dispute started between Jade and Noel, triggered by his remark about Jade’s former band Little Mix, following their remarkable victory at The BRIT Awards in 2021.
Soon after his comments, Jade hilariously clapped back at the star.
In a particular instance on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, the ex-winner of The X Factor was questioned regarding her opinions towards the musician known for Wonderwall, following his statement that his former band Oasis was not comparable to the women in the same league.

She started by saying, “There seems to be an opinion that we didn’t deserve the Brit Award because we are women, despite the fact that we do compose music. However, his view is that we don’t create music.
Indeed, it’s quite unfortunate, Jade jested with a hint of amusement, given that we are undoubtedly the top-tier girl group in this nation. However, he doesn’t even hold the title of the most accomplished performer within his own family! The studio audience erupted in laughter at her witty remark.
At the highly esteemed ceremony in May, when she received the British Group trophy together with Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, it signified for the first time that a female band had won this award.
In a short amount of time after being awarded the same honor back in 1996, Noel remarked to The Sun, “With utmost respect, Little Mix doesn’t compare to the caliber of Oasis.
‘Not even in the same f****** sport.
The issue stems from the music industry focusing too much on statistics, with little attention given to actual bands or songwriters within those groups.
During the weekend, Jade performed solo at Glastonbury for the first time and incited the audience to join her in a chant directed at the Reform party and their proposed welfare reductions, during an electrifying show.

On the Woodsies stage, she was presented by Ncuti Gatwa, famously known for his role in Doctor Who. With a daring flair, she made her grand entry wearing a crop top that sported the term ‘Glasto’ prominently.
Showing a quick peek of her well-defined waist, JADE put on a khaki coat and accessorized with a lavish fake-fur hat, then performed an energetic show for the thrilled audience.
Or, more casually:
JADE flashed her toned midriff briefly, slipped into a khaki parka and added a fancy fur hat, before giving a lively performance to the pumped-up crowd.
In her first-ever Glastonbury show, she delighted fans by playing songs from her upcoming album as well as popular hits like Shout Out To My Ex, Woman Like Me, and Touch. This performance, which Time Out described as a ‘coronation into pop royalty’, also featured some of Little Mix’s favorites.
As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but be enthralled by JADE’s powerful performances, but what truly captivated me were her bold, political declarations, laced with colorful language that resonated deeply.
As a fervent admirer during her electrifying performance of “FUFN”, I passionately rallied the energized audience in a unified voice, echoing our collective disdain towards ‘Reform, welfare reductions, transphobia, muzzling protests, arms sales, and justifying genocide’.
After speaking with X, viewers showered her with praise, calling her ‘iconic’, ‘the future star’, and ‘someone always on the right side of events’.
In a simpler and more conversational style: ‘Jade incited the Glastonbury crowd to boo against welfare reductions, transphobia, weapons sales, suppressing demonstrations, and backing genocide on the main BBC stage… You’ll forever be renowned in my home, sweetheart.’
1. ‘Jade inciting the Glastonbury audience to shout “Down with Reform” – I admire her spirit.’
2. ‘JADE on the verge of setting a new world record for the most pre-watershed exclamations – oh my goodness, gosh!’
At Glastonbury, JADE’s shout of “FU to justifying genocide” to the enthusiastic audience is incredibly iconic and is just one of the numerous reasons why she remains my undisputed favorite.
1. On a sunny day this summer, Bob Vylan, Helen from Wales, Kneecap, and Jade all chose to create history.
2. At 15:52 during a beautiful summer afternoon at Glastonbury Festival, when Jade dropped the F-bomb, she became an icon!
‘Jade is the one who can make the Glastonbury crowd boo welfare cuts, transphobia, arms sales, silencing protests, and supporting genocide on the BBC. You go, Jade! Keep up the good work, you deserve to be the next big thing.’
With a perfect 10/10 discography, an extraordinary vocalist, and a gifted dancer, she consistently aligns with historical trends, making her the ideal choice for the global sensation of the decade. It’s high time we make Jade the breakout star of this era.
I’m thrilled to come across a pop star who leverages their platform for change and brings attention to often-overlooked issues. It’s crucial we have more artists like Jade in the industry.
