Jacqueline Jossa reveals she believes her family were saved from harm by a ‘guardian angel’ during horror £20k raid at their Marbella villa
As someone who has lived through the harrowing ordeal of a home invasion, I can empathize with Jacqueline Jossa‘s recent experience. The fear that grips you when an intruder enters your sanctuary is unparalleled. Yet, amidst the chaos and uncertainty, it’s the small moments that stand out – like checking on my children to make sure they were safe. I can relate to Jacqueline’s relief at finding them tucked in their beds, and her need to touch them to reassure herself.
Jacqueline Jossa shared that she thinks a guardian angel protected her family when a distressing break-in occurred, resulting in the theft of approximately £20,000 in jewelry and cash.
In Marbella, the actress from EastEnders, aged 31, along with her husband Dan Osbourne (33), and their children Ella (9), Mia, and Teddy (10) were vacationing. It was during this stay that a robbery occurred at their villa.
On the early morning of last Monday, Jacqueline woke up to find two masked individuals in her lodging. It wasn’t until they had fled that she realized something was taken.
Now, she explained that she froze from fear upon waking up, needing a moment to compose herself before encountering one of the raiders who then escaped.
It seems that the brief pause in her response may have been crucial for her and her family’s safety, as the video suggested someone was carrying a weapon.
According to Jacqueline, she firmly trusts in the existence of guardian angels. She feels that something prevented her from stepping outside immediately. If she had gone out sooner, she might have stood in his path.
‘He would have had to move around me, push me downstairs or use a weapon.
‘We saw it on CCTV. There was something very long and sharp in his hand.’
In the interview, the soap actor emphasized that she values only the emotionally significant items that were taken from her.
This included her engagement ring from Dan, which cost £7,000 ten years ago, and the tooth fairy money they had given their daughter Ella on the holiday.
Instead of disclosing the truth, the soap actor and Dan opted to secretly return the money that was taken from Mia, while their children remain unaware that this was connected to the missing tooth fairy money.
In the course of the interview, Jacqueline recounted a nerve-wracking instance when she believed her kids were abducted after unexpectedly encountering burglars during the dead of night.
After noticing the robbery, she quickly roused her husband Dan, who then rushed down the stairs and picked up a snooker cue to safeguard their family.
Instead, the thieves took off running when they saw Jacqueline and managed to slip out through the rear entrance before speeding away in an awaiting escape vehicle.
After that, the actress hastily rushed to verify the safety of her children. Even though she saw them snugly in their beds, she still needed to gently touch them to confirm they were really there and alleviate any doubts she might have had.
Jackie mentioned that she felt thankful for discovering the thieves instead of one of her kids, as they might have suffered psychological trauma if they had witnessed the masked individuals. Moreover, she implied that she too might be emotionally affected by the event.
Jacqueline, starring as Lauren Branning on the BBC soap opera, has been sharing her vacation experiences with her Instagram fans. This journey involved Jacqueline, her family members, their children, and Dan’s son Teddy.
During their two-week vacation under the sun, she was spotted having fun at the beach in Marbella with her friends as well.
Reports indicate that Spanish authorities are looking into the incident at the villa, as a vehicle associated with a security company was spotted nearby.
Besides the engagement ring, it is said that the thieves also made off with handbags and stacks of money taken from children’s school bags.
On Tuesday, Jacqueline and Dan appeared noticeably upset as they departed from the Marbella police station following their report submission.
The couple leaned on each other for support, with Dan wrapping a protective arm around his wife.
In 2017, the pair tied the knot, just prior to the announcement by EastEnders producers that she would be leaving the show.
After the passing of June Brown early in 2022, she paid a brief visit to the show later that year for Dot Cotton’s funeral. However, it wasn’t until October of the previous year that she made her permanent comeback.
The high-profile burglary follows another incident where a BBC celebrity, ex-Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, was reportedly victimized by thieves who used gas to rob him and his 81-year-old mother Eileen in their rented villa in Ibiza. The aim was to steal from them.
On his 40th birthday, the DJ was enjoying a celebration with his loved ones. However, during this joyous occasion, their residence was unexpectedly attacked by a gang that had previously targeted several luxury villas inhabited by affluent tourists throughout the past year.
As a devoted follower, I found myself in a state of unconsciousness, along with my dear mother Eileen, following the clandestine introduction of a sedative gas into our residence – a place where I usually sought solace during my slumber. The unknown intruders, patiently waiting for the gas to take effect, then breached our sanctuary, donned in hazmat suits and systematically searched the villa.
In the occurrence, no injuries have been reported, but it’s speculated that some property might have been taken during the search.
