Jacob Elordi’s Variety magazine cover is roasted as he poses with ‘unrecognisable’ Gwyneth Paltrow: ‘Photoshop is working it’s magic’

Australian actor Jacob Elordi has copped some sledging for his latest magazine cover shoot.

Jacob Elordi, known for his role in Saltburn, recently shared the cover of Variety magazine with Gwyneth Paltrow.

In a black-and-white photograph, Jacob is seen with his arm around Gwyneth, 53. He’s wearing a black leather jacket and chinos.

For the photoshoot, the actress wore a black, sleeveless dress and styled her blonde hair straight.

The fact that Gwyneth’s face was completely line-free in the image was not lost on readers.

After the cover was shared on Variety’s Instagram, many people criticized it, with a lot of the negative comments focusing on how Gwyneth Paltrow looked.

One reader questioned if the person in the photo was Gwyneth Paltrow, saying it resembled her but seemed off. Another commenter suggested the photo had been digitally altered with Photoshop.

Someone else chimed in with a harsh comment: ‘Gwyneth looks like a sketch from a kids’ art show – close to looking real, but not quite…’

The discussion continued, and someone even pointed out that Gwyneth might not have known Jacob’s name.

‘She forgot his name as soon as the interview was done,’ they suggested.

It wasn’t all criticism, though, with many jumping in to fawn over the cover pairing.

One fan playfully admitted they were hoping for a scandalous, age-gap romance between the two, saying, ‘It’s a bit of a mess, but it would be amazing for everyone to see!’

One person enthusiastically called it their ‘Mount Rushmore,’ while another commented on Gwyneth’s beauty and noted Jacob’s age of 27.

One Gwyneth fan even had some slight shade to throw at her cover co-star. 

I’m excited to see Gwyneth Paltrow again, both in the interview and in her movies. It’s a shame the interviewer wasn’t quite on her level, though.

In a separate interview filmed for CNN’s Actors On Actors, Gwyneth spoke highly of the Australian actor.

The actress, known for her role in ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ happily shared, ‘It’s wonderful to be here chatting with you all. My kids are really wishing they could be here too!’

Gwyneth shared honestly that her son admires you and her daughter has a crush on you, playfully adding she might feel the same way before long.

The popular actor responded with a playfully humble answer, saying, ‘That’s just what people always expect.’

It’s just… everyone always tells me how much their families adore him! Like, ‘My mom is obsessed!’ or ‘My little sister thinks he’s a genius!’ It’s never anyone actually saying they love him. It’s always through someone else. It’s so frustrating! I just want someone to look at me and say they love him, you know?

“I love you, Jacob,” Gwyneth told him, explaining that she first discovered his work through the show Euphoria—which her kids had warned her not to watch because of its mature content.

Gwyneth is now married to Brad Falchuk, a writer and creative partner of Ryan Murphy, who together created popular shows like Glee and American Horror Story.

She ended her relationship with both Apple and Moses’ father in 2014, and the way she described it – as a ‘conscious uncoupling’ – became a widespread joke.

Jacob has dated several well-known women, including Olivia Jade (Lori Loughlin’s daughter, who was involved in the college admissions scandal), Kaia Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s daughter), and Joey King, his co-star from The Kissing Booth.

Jacob and Olivia have been in an on-again, off-again relationship since late 2021. They reportedly got back together briefly in September, but separated again just a few weeks later.
