Jackie ‘O’ Henderson Claps Back at Neighbor Over $5M Dream Home Build
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson responded following criticism over the $5 million building of what she calls her “dream house,” which sparked discontent among nearby residents.
The popular radio host, aged 50, expressed surprise during a recent interview about a neighbor’s comment, labeling her as ‘disgusting,’ regarding the home renovation projects.
Jackie mentioned on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show this week that an interesting observation she’s made is that each neighbor has taken extra steps to express how fantastic her builders are, and how courteous and mindful they are.
When a producer inquired whether she regretted placing her worksite caravans on the road, Jackie expressed remorse.
‘It’s really unfortunate and I hate that I would ever be putting people out,’ she added.
‘She called us both repulsive.’
‘You can’t blame people for thinking we’re disgusting,’ Kyle joked.
Jackie embarks on an ambitious endeavor, aiming to completely renovate a beachfront property in Clovelly that she bought during an open auction in March 2023.
It is located in one of Sydney’s most sought-after suburbs.
Two years following the purchase of a $13.25 million property in the eastern suburbs by the KIIS FM celebrity, neighbors near the construction site have been expressing concerns over the disturbances and loud noises.
As a diligent neighbor, I can personally attest to the excessive and distressing noise emanating from the construction site situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with stunning views of Gordon’s Bay. Based on my personal experience, I must concur with news.com.au’s report that this racket is indeed ‘horrendous’.
A local resident voiced their concerns to a newspaper, expressing frustration over work trucks belonging to contractors working at Jackie’s house obstructing roadways and ignoring assigned parking spots.
The unhappy neighbor expressed that they didn’t want it to be necessary for them to visit these people each time they wanted to leave their driveway.
A tradie informed the publication that work on the site won’t be completed until June 2026.

In the meantime, the supervisor of the site confirmed that all necessary building permits for constructing Jackie’s large three-story house have received approval.
The Wentworth Courier’s report indicated that there were two instances where Randwick Council received criticism regarding ongoing construction work.
A concern is expressed that sediment from the site may end up in the sea, rather than any issues with disturbances or noise.
When concerns were voiced, local officials went to inspect the property and asked the construction team to take extra steps to control soil erosion and minimize potential floodwater flowing into the sea, according to their representative.
Builders made the changes to the site as requested, they said.
Recently, Jackie has given us a sneak peek of the breathtaking scenery from what she calls her ‘ideal dwelling’, now that construction is starting.
She shared an image on Instagram earlier this month that hinted at the stunning ocean view the Radio Star would have once construction was finished.
Back in December Jackie shared video and images of the demolishing works on the original property.

As a devoted observer, I chanced upon images revealing an inclined façade, paving the way to multiple tiered platforms. Presently, the entire scene has been sectioned off with makeshift barricades for safety.
The scene was a far cry from the 1960s-era home that once stood on the site.
An aerial photo of the site revealed just how close Jackie will be to the stunning coastline.
The photo revealed sparkling crystalline water standing mere meters from where Jackie’s porch would one day be located.
The property sits atop a seaside cliff, approximately 9 kilometers away from the city center (CBD). This picturesque location can be found in Clovelly.
‘And so it begins,’ Jackie captioned the post as she shared her excitement for the build.
The house stands a bit away from the main road, providing Jackie with the seclusion she was missing on the cramped streets of her old residence.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve found myself in situations where privacy becomes a premium. Much like a high-profile figure I once knew, I too have felt the constant gaze of unwanted attention from the media. This is why, when given the opportunity, I chose to sell my previous residence – a sanctuary that was often invaded by intrusive paparazzi.
Jackie secured a brand-new residence following the successful sale of her previous property in Woollahra, which fetched a neat $2 million as profit. She had initially purchased this house back in 2020 for $11 million.
