Jackie 'O' Henderson breaks down as she admits she went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction when she mysteriously went missing for months from her radio show two years ago

As an ardent admirer of Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, her latest revelation about her brave battle against drug and alcohol addiction has left me utterly moved and inspired. The depth of her courage to share such a personal struggle, especially in the public eye, is truly commendable.

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has emotionally revealed she went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.

On their KIIS FM radio program, which airs on Thursday mornings, the 49-year-old radio host shared an emotional disclosure with her co-host Kyle Sandilands.

In November 2022, she openly acknowledged that she spent time at a health center as part of her decision to temporarily step away from the Kyle and Jackie O Show to prioritize her well-being.

Currently, she’s shared her struggle with overcoming addictions to painkillers, sleeping pills, and alcohol, which she underwent treatment for at the Betty Ford Center in California.

This week, she finally mustered up courage after privately debating for some time, to openly discuss her battle with addiction.

On her radio program, she confessed that she had been hesitant to voice it publicly because she feared others might judge or perceive her differently once they knew, but she hoped they would still love her.

‘I was in a really, really dark place.’

Jackie confessed that she didn’t tell the truth when she explained her prolonged absence in her 2022 statement by claiming to have long COVID, as she actually hid the real cause.

Jackie openly shared the depth of her struggle with addiction, confessing that she consumed approximately 10 to 12 Stilnox sleeping pills daily, often accompanying them with alcohol.

Medical advice warns users not to drink alcohol while taking Stilnox as it can cause the respiratory system to slow down and cause difficulty waking up.

What an addiction does to your mind is alter your thought patterns, making it resistant to seeking help. It holds such a strong grip,” she continued, tears streaming down her face.

‘It takes a rock bottom moment to cut yourself off,’ she confessed.

Additionally, Jackie disclosed that she sought approval from her thirteen-year-old daughter Kitty before making their family’s story public. Moreover, Jackie expressed appreciation for the kindness Kitty showed her during this experience.

She expressed how utterly proud she is of her daughter because she’s handled things with an incredible lack of judgment, instead showing only understanding and support.

Jackie expressed a desire to openly discuss her struggle with addiction, aiming to lessen the perceived shame associated with substance dependency and make it more accepted as part of everyday life.

The speaker courageously admitted to the audience that she hadn’t shared her health issues earlier, and announced that she would soon be celebrating two weeks of being sober.

She expressed her sincere apologies to her listeners and those in her life, stating that she had to prioritize and focus on that particular aspect of recovery first.
