As an ardent fan of Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, I find myself utterly captivated by her extraordinary journey through life. From her humble beginnings as a radio host to becoming one of Australia’s most influential media personalities, Jackie’s life has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride.
Jackie O’ Henderson exhibited a casual vacation flair, taking her teenager daughter, Kitty, on a trip to Thailand to begin the holiday season in a relaxed manner.
On Thursday, Sydney’s popular radio host, aged 49, reached the height of vacation vibes and posted a stunning infinity pool scene from her Instagram Stories.
She added a location tag for Thailand when resharing pictures from her 14-year-old’s personal album on social media.
In a heartwarming moment, the radio host and her miniature doppelganger shared a charming selfie while snuggling closely and striking a pose for a festive photograph.
Jackie donned a delicate, pale yellow silk sundress featuring dainty straps, while Kitty, originally named Catalina Mae, opted for a complementary butter-yellow bandeau top, accentuating her recently tanned bikini lines.
The two women, mother and daughter, both sported a similar hairstyle with their long, golden hair falling over one shoulder. Their reflections shared a striking similarity in their faces as they displayed their strong familial bond.
In a snapshot by Kitty, Jackie appeared carefree and content while lounging cross-legged on a deck chair by the pool, enjoying a cup of tea.
After Jackie had celebrated Kitty’s 14th birthday in Sydney on a Tuesday, their journey followed.
On that special day, Jackie chose to embody the Christmas aesthetic, donning a chic, crimson ensemble while basking in the sunlight.
They spent some special moments together, celebrating Kitty’s fourteenth birthday, and Jackie added a heartfelt message on Instagram too.
She shared a throwback photograph of Kitty cuddling up to their pet dog as she gushed over her only child in a caption.
Jackie wrote, ’14th birthday wishes for the nicest, most entertaining, and considerate girl I am acquainted with. It’s incredible luck on my part, isn’t it? With love, Kitty.’ (Alongside the picture)
Jackie and her former husband Lee Henderson co-own Kitty – they parted ways in 2018 after 15 years of marriage.
Expressing it another way, it’s safe to say that Lee struck gold – or perhaps even more than just hitting the jackpot – when he charmed Jackie in a Sydney pub over two decades back.
It was March 2000 when their eyes locked across the dancefloor at Blue Room.
In the early stages of my broadcasting career, having recently navigated through the tumultuous end of my union with ‘Ugly Phil’ O’Neil, I found myself undeterred by the fact that Lee, a traveler from England with few apparent assets, was drawing my attention.
At the age of 25, Jackie, accompanied by her friend, would reminisce later in her diary that Lee, who was slightly younger, appeared leisurely in arriving – approximately an hour’s delay. However, his slow pace had an intriguing allure.
The fact the ‘prim and proper’ Brit reminded her ‘of a hot Hugh Grant’ didn’t hurt either.
Prior to her departure, he requested her phone number, which she entered into his Nokia. He phoned a few days afterwards. As she penned in her diary then (and would recall on the air years later), she wasn’t certain about him initially, but there was an instant physical allure.
She mentioned, ‘Lee is quite intense, yet I’m uncertain about us as a couple. I’m not sure if I feel that connection or not,’ she expressed.
As it transpired, they were destined for a shared future that would span nearly two decades. Regrettably, their journey didn’t extend to the full length of a lifetime, but they managed to create an impressive milestone by becoming the proud parents of a daughter, born in 2010 following IVF treatment.
Over time, Jackie formed a significant partnership with Kyle Sandilands, a key figure in her life, and they rose to become Sydney’s most listened-to morning radio duo. In the year 2019, they sealed an unprecedented agreement in Australian media, reportedly worth millions. Later in 2023, they signed another astounding contract, valued at a mind-boggling $200 million.
