Jackie Apostel remembers the first time she met Cruz Beckham, whom she calls an incredibly talented musician. She explains how their professional connection quickly turned into a public relationship.
Since being seen together in June 2024, the Brazilian songwriter has quickly become close with David and Victoria Beckham’s youngest son.
Thirty-year-old And Apostel says she and her twenty-year-old boyfriend connected romantically while collaborating on his upcoming music in the recording studio.
On Tuesday, the songwriter used Instagram—seemingly to announce Beckham’s upcoming first single—and appeared to speak directly to him while sharing memories of their relationship.
We first connected when our managers paired us up to collaborate on songwriting. I heard you’d been developing your own music for a long time and were exploring different styles to discover your unique sound.
Honestly, I didn’t know anything going in, I just wanted to see what all the hype was about. But after seeing you perform, everything clicked! You’re not just talented, you’re amazing. But more than that, I could feel how much you genuinely loved what you do. It was like nothing anyone else thought mattered – you were going to keep creating, keep sharing your music, no matter what. It was so inspiring, I’m completely hooked!

As we’ve grown closer through working and becoming friends, you’ve discovered who you are today and are excited to share that with everyone. Consider this a playful preview of even more exciting things to come – I hope you’re all ready!
She shared a message of pride for @cruzbeckham, saying she’s thrilled to see him achieving his goals and that she’ll always be his biggest supporter. She finished with a loving message.
Beckham’s first single, “Optics/Lick The Frog,” is coming out on October 24th, finally following a long period of teasing on social media.
The up-and-coming musician is getting ready to release new music and has been playing small, personal shows to build excitement, including a performance at the famous George Tavern in East London.
Beckham performed several of his new songs – including “Optics,” “Caroline,” “For Your Love,” and “Lick The Toad” – on a small stage with his band.
He addressed the audience, saying he was deeply touched and grateful for their presence that evening.
According to someone who attended the performance, Cruz was initially a bit nervous, but the audience quickly responded enthusiastically once he started playing.
It’s obvious he’s been listening to Oasis a lot over the summer. He sings well, plays guitar, and writes songs that stick in your head.

They compared his music to popular bands from the 2000s like The Kooks and Kaiser Chiefs, and described his style as ‘catchy indie landfill’ – meaning it’s instantly appealing but ultimately unremarkable.
Although none of his famous relatives attended the debut performance of singer Cruz, sources say he’s determined to build his career on his own merit, without using family connections to get ahead.
His girlfriend was seen in the audience and shared with her followers that she was moved to tears when her boyfriend started his performance.
‘Safe to say I did not keep it together,’ she said.
After his performance, the model shared on Instagram: ‘He showed up unexpectedly and completely owned the stage! He’s dedicated to his art, having fun, and constantly improving. Everything you heard – the songs, the performance, the vocals – was all him. I’m so proud!’
