Jack White, the Mars Volta and Cigarettes After Sex headline Desert Daze’s comeback fest

As a devoted fan of music and festivals, I am thrilled to share my excitement for the return of Desert Daze in 2024! After a much-needed hiatus, this renowned SoCal psych-rock festival is back with an exceptional lineup that promises an unforgettable experience.

Following a one-year hiatus, Desert Daze psych-rock festival in SoCal is set to come back in the year 2024 boasting an impressive roster of artists such as Jack White, The Mars Volta, and Cigarettes After Sex.

I’m excited to share that the highly anticipated festival I had the pleasure of attending last year is coming back for another round! Known for its distinctive blend of experimental rock, metal, hip-hop, and music from around the globe, this event is a must-visit for any music lover. Mark your calendars for October 10-13 as we head back to the classic grounds nestled at Lake Perris. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the unique sounds and vibrant energy that this festival brings!

Beneath them on the bill, you’ll find Power Trip, the Texas heavy metal band making a return following the tragic passing of their lead singer Riley Gale. Hailing from Belarus, Molchat Doma, an unconventional post-punk group, is also scheduled to perform. Lastly, hip-hop veterans De La Soul will take the stage in 2023, mourning the loss of co-founder Trugoy the Dove.

Among the many captivating acts, Death From Above 1979 is set to perform their grungy debut album “You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine” in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Moreover, there will be some avant-garde jazz sessions featuring Makaya McCraven, Jeff Parker, Ebo Taylor, Pat Thomas, and Adrian Younge. Additionally, Bikini Kill founder and memoirist Kathleen Hanna and Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala will engage in a literary conversation.

The Desert Daze festival announced that it would cancel its 2023 event. In a statement released at the time, the organizers explained, “After much deliberation, we have decided to take a break from Desert Daze at Lake Perris this year. We will use this time to plan an exceptional experience for your return in 2024.”

Tickets for this year’s fest go on sale Friday, and passes start at $299. See the full lineup here.
