As someone who has walked the winding path of recovery myself, I can only imagine the turmoil Jack Vidgen must be going through right now. His brave and honest update about his latest relapse is both heartbreaking and inspiring. It’s heartbreaking because we all want to see him overcome this battle, but it’s inspiring because he’s sharing his journey openly, reminding us that recovery isn’t a straight line but a series of ups and downs.

Jack Vidgen has shared a devastating update on his addiction battle as he revealed he has relapsed.

27-year-old Australia’s Got Talent celebrity posted an emotional video on Instagram after his recent admission back into a rehab facility on Boxing Day.

Over the past few years, Jack, who’s had multiple stints in rehab, candidly shared that he spent the holiday season receiving treatment due to his ongoing battles.

As your trusted guide for a balanced lifestyle, I wanted to share an honest update with you: Approximately three weeks past, I found myself slipping back into old habits and returning to rehabilitation. Today happens to be Boxing Day, the day following Christmas, and I felt it was important to keep you informed about my current journey.

It seems I’ve been away from social media for several weeks, and here’s the reason: I’ve been dealing with a lot of embarrassment and remorse, which has left me at a loss for words at the moment.

‘Withdrawals are starting now, it’s f**king hectic. So, that’s where I’m at.’

In a caption, the artist expressed gratitude for being in a secure environment, acknowledging that the holidays can pose challenges for numerous individuals.

He wrote, “I’m finding it tough to express my level of self-disappointment and the embarrassment I feel at this moment.

Despite not being how I had envisioned spending Christmas, I am thankful to be in a secure location. It’s especially tough during this season for many people.

‘Please hold each other tightly and check in on those you think may be struggling.

I might feel a bit self-conscious about sharing this, but I’m dedicated to being open about my experiences, including the occasional mistakes along the way.

‘Relapse is part of recovery. Merry Christmas beautiful people.’

During a tough period, Jack received an outpouring of encouragement from well-known companions, who swiftly gathered to offer their support.

In the comments section, Jodi Gordon posted: ‘I’m sending you my warmest affection every day, you can handle it!’

Katie Williams, the sprinter, expressed: “There’s no need for embarrassment, my brother. Everyone has their human moments. Take it one day at a time, friend. You truly are amazing!

In response, Hannah Ferrier stated: “I’m sending you affection. Take it one day at a time. Remember, you can handle it. Release the feelings of guilt – you are just human.

Previously, Jack had been hospitalized in a rehabilitation facility during October following a five-week battle with a relapse. During this period, he openly discussed his hardships via an authentic Instagram post.

He expressed doubt about the precise reason for his setback, yet suggested that the passing of two dear ones might have played a part.

He penned down his thoughts while feeling quite anxious about being judged. His fear revolves around others’ opinions, whether it’s their reactions when they see him or any gossip they might spread if they cross paths with him on the street.

For quite some time now, I’ve harbored an intense fear of the inner battle I face daily against my addiction. I felt it was important for you to understand that I’m currently struggling, not at my best.

For a long time, I’ve come across the phrase, “It’s alright if you’re not alright,” but I’ve never quite grasped its meaning. However, I think I’m starting to get a sense of it now.

For about five weeks, I’ve been grappling with a deep setback, feeling like I can’t catch my breath. My battle with this addiction has been the hardest challenge I’ve faced, something I wouldn’t even inflict on someone I dislike the most.

‘I had a close friend of 13 years pass away, my uncle got sick and ended up passing away as well.

‘With numerous additional pressures, I didn’t quite manage to seek the necessary help or support as much as I should have.’

Jack rose to fame after winning the fifth season of Australia’s Got Talent in 2011.

Following a brief hiatus from public life, he reemerged significantly in 2019, participating in The Voice competition.

He made it all the way to the semi-finals before being eliminated.
