Jack Quaid would like to stop being naked on The Boys, please
As a long-time fan of The Boys, I can’t help but feel a tinge of sympathy for Jack Quaid and his predicament. The man has been through the ringer, with each season seemingly outdoing the last in terms of vulgarity and shock value. It’s no wonder he’s begging for some semblance of modesty in season 5 – is that too much to ask?
Jack Quaid’s journey on Amazon Prime Video’s show “The Boys” has been nothing short of extraordinary, packed with increasingly graphic and jaw-dropping scenes. By now, it seems like Hughie, played by Quaid, has faced just about everything. As we approach the fifth and final season, all he asks for is a bit of modesty; isn’t that reasonable?
It appears that the scenario may appear simple, but keep in mind that the creators of The Boys enjoy pushing Hughie into progressively awkward predicaments. The language reached its maximum coarseness during the well-known ‘Herogasm’ episode in season 3, which came with a content warning before it aired. In the latest season, there was a scene where Hughie was bound to a cruel superhero’s table, leading some viewers to feel that it crossed the line, even for this series.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Eric Kripke and his team are likely brimming with plans to intensify the turmoil in season 5. It’s their final opportunity to stir things up, and they’ll surely leave no stone untouched. However, Jack Quaid is hoping that he won’t have to bare all on set again. As he put it at New York Comic-Con, ” frankly, I’d prefer if the nudity could just end. My backside has had quite a bit of screen time, and let’s just say it’s not particularly impressive,” according to People magazine.
He went on to explain that his nudity has, naturally, hindered the viewing experience for his family. I suppose that’s merely something you’re willing to accept when signing up for a role in The Boys. “Yes, no … anything involved in my a–, I’ve just been like, ‘Can you just not watch?” he said. Of course, there’s one season in particular he refuses to watch his family view. “I mean, season 3, don’t watch it. Like no one in my family should watch season 3. My butt’s all over that thing.”
In the upcoming family-friendly series, “My Adventures with Superman,” Quaid’s family will be able to watch him in a more suitable context, as he won’t have to reveal his face. On the other hand, season 5 of “The Boys” is anticipated for release around 2026.
