Aree Gearhart, Jack Osbourne’s wife, says his time on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ has been beneficial in helping him cope with the loss of his father, Ozzy.
Kelly Osbourne, age 40, is now appearing on the show, just four months after her father, the rock star, passed away in July after a struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
On the show, Jack has been candid about grieving his father, becoming emotional as he shared with his fellow contestants that the loss still feels recent and was unexpected for his family.
On Wednesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked, Aree shared her belief that Jack’s mood is improving thanks to the humorous company of his fellow campmates.
She said: ‘It’s kind of a funny time to be doing something like this, but it’s helpful…
He’s determined to finish this because he’s competitive, enjoys being outside, and wants to prove to himself that he can do it. He also values the relationships he’s built along the way.

ITV executives were keeping a close eye on Jack after he became visibly emotional in the jungle. He had shared his grief over Ozzy’s death with fellow contestants Ruby Wax and Lisa Riley, and viewers noticed.
Aree shared that she was really touched by Jack’s friendships with Lisa and Ruby. She described them as kind, funny, and supportive people, and believes Jack especially needs their positive energy right now.
‘And I was really happy to find those connections.’
On Wednesday night’s show, Jack shared with Lisa that Ozzy would be watching to see how he handles life in the Australian jungle, especially the challenging Bushtucker Trials.
Lisa asked: ‘Would he have watched it?’
Jack replied: ‘He would have, yeah. He absolutely would’ve watched it.’
Ruby wondered: ‘Did he get [the concept of the show]?’
Jack responded: ‘He got it, but he was just like, ‘Why would anyone do that?’

He’s the absolute last person who has any right to question someone else’s actions or motivations.
Even though thinking about Ozzy’s death was tough for him, Jack has wowed viewers by easily succeeding in the Bushtucker trials. He even finished his first individual challenge faster than anyone else on Tuesday.
Jack faced his first challenge alone, called ‘Drown The Hatch’. He had to dive into eight underwater compartments to find stars hidden inside sealed hatches.
He had just two minutes to search each of the eight rooms. His goal was to find twelve stars hidden among the dragons, mud crabs, eels, and toads inside.
Before the competition, Jack admitted he was a bit anxious about participating on his own, saying he felt he needed to achieve a perfect score – ‘ten stars’.
Ant and Dec were amazed when he finished the first part of the challenge in just 26 seconds, and he maintained that quick pace throughout.
Ant joked: ‘He’s holding his breath, we might actually get to play golf today!’
‘Good lungs’, praised Dec, before Ant added: ‘The man’s a machine, Jack Osbourne for the Olympics’.
Dec explained, ‘He’s got a minute to go in this final box’. Ant insisted, ‘He won’t need it Dec’.

However Dec pointed out, ‘Don’t celebrate til the medal is round his neck’.
Ant was correct – Jack managed to collect all twelve stars incredibly quickly and even enjoyed the challenge!
Jack Osbourne became well-known, along with his sister Kelly, after they both appeared on the popular MTV reality show, The Osbournes, with their parents from 2002 to 2005.
Life in the jungle has been hard on the celebrities, and one star recently shared that everyone is losing weight due to the difficult conditions.
While in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, Jack shared that his significant weight loss had caused him painful side effects, leading to concerns he wasn’t getting enough nutrients.
The 40-year-old joined Monday’s episode of the ITV2 show ‘I’m a Celebrity… Unpacked’ to respond to questions from viewers.
Jack admitted he planned to sneak in a camping chair because he and his fellow actors were suffering from sore bottoms after sitting on the uncomfortable logs. They’d gotten chafing from constantly adjusting their position.
